Rabindra tirtha is a cultural house for many function . To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, WBHIDCO Ltd. had taken the initiative to set up 'Rabindra Tirtha' – a Cultural & Research Institute, which was inaugurated by Smt. Mamata Banerjee, Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal on August 7, 2012. It is spread over an area of 4.89 acres & located in the heart of New Town with facilities including an Auditorium, Art Galleries, Exhibition Halls, Mini Cinema Hall & Music Room. There are also Cottages and Dormitories for providing accommodation to resident researchers. A digital archive has also been created on the life and works of Rabindranath Tagore. Some selected songs, recitations of Tagore poems, pictorial biography of Tagore, Children's section etc. make up the archive at present. Complete works of Rabindranath Tagore will be added, in due course.
