We recently visited Spice It and opted for their buffet. While the ambience was pleasant and seating arrangements comfortable, the overall experience was quite disappointing.

The food selection was extremely limited and frustrating. Only one veg and one non-veg starter were available, and the non-veg starter bowl was often empty, despite multiple requests for refills. There was only a veg soup option, which felt inadequate for a buffet.

In the salad section, the pasta salad was good but had refilling issues. The doi bada was overly elastic, and papri chaat lacked flavor.

Moving to the main course, there was just one fish and one chicken item under the non-veg menu. The fish dish was mostly gravy, making it difficult to find actual pieces of fish.

Among the few highlights were the fresh fruits—papaya and watermelon, which were fresh and enjoyable. However, the dessert section was underwhelming, with just one pastry variety and baked gulab jamun that was excessively sweet. Thankfully, both ice cream flavours were good.

Service was another letdown. The staff lacked attentiveness, and we had to ask multiple times for items to be refilled. There were no complimentary drinks, and the coffee machine was locked—it was not part of the buffet, which wasn't clearly communicated. Also, no mouth fresheners were available after the meal, which is a basic expectation.

Although there was a 50% discount offer on the buffet, even the discounted price didn’t feel justified considering the limited variety, poor service, and lack of value.

Overall, while the ambience is nice, Spice It seriously needs to improve food variety, quality, and service to make the buffet worth...

Disappointing Experience at Spice It - Ibis, Especially with Executive Bartender Suvendu

I visited Spice It - Ibis after checking their listing on Zomato, where both the restaurant and bar menus are clearly mentioned along with a 30% discount. The listing gave me the impression that the restaurant and bar are part of the same establishment, which is a reasonable expectation based on the way it’s presented.

However, during payment, I was told that the bar is a separate entity and the discounts or offers shown on Zomato do not apply. When I raised this concern and showed the listing, instead of clarifying professionally, Suvendu, the executive bartender, reacted quite rudely. He went so far as to misbehave, accused me of not understanding the difference between a restaurant and a bar, and even warned me that he would call the security guard — all for simply pointing out what was advertised online.

This kind of behavior from a senior staff member is unacceptable, especially in a hospitality setting. The lack of transparency between what is advertised online and what is actually offered on-site is misleading. I hope the management takes this seriously and ensures better communication and behavior from their staff...

I went to this restaurant for having breakfast buffet. The experience was not at all good. The amount per person was 499 + Tax which is on a higher side considering the quality and variety of items offered as compared to other restaurants serving Breakfast buffet. All the items were cold. When we asked to get it heated, the reply came from the waiters as " Sir, it will take lot of time." As if they wanted us to eat whatever was available. Variety was very less, There were no cold cuts ( like Chicken sausage/Salami), no crossiants, no cakes. These are usually served in other restaurants having similar price range. The live counter food was horrible. The dosa was over burnt. We asked for replacement, to which they again provided similar over burnt dosa. They had only 2 varities of fruits, watermelon and musk melon. Stale smell was coming from it. Not sure when it's was cut and kept. The only good thing that I felt was the Tea. So if you want a good teanin the morning, you can spend 499 for getting the tea 😉. Just kidding, I would suggest to visit some other place offering Breakfast buffet.
