We had booked this place for my mother’s 75surprise birthday party. We had planned and discussed the buffet menu and changes were accepted. Except for few dishes, none of the main course items lived up to the expectation. It seems they follow different recipe for Ala Carte and buffet items. Dal was watery, mix veg was made like Kurma. No garnishing on curd rice. I can go on. All main course items were served at same time which gave an overwhelming experience of what to eat and by that time other dishes had gone cold and could not consumed. Desserts were a big let down Halwa was too basic, it was not payasam, just milk and sugar added. ice cream was of inferior. What was good: 3 starters, saffron rice. This is our 4th or 5th time to this place, I could definitely find a stark difference on the quality of items, looks like chefs got changed and new chefs were not as good or it’s just for buffet they adopt a different approach. This was a go to place for us for our family get togethers , now the perception has changed. All in all, except for a good ambience, and good service team, food was a big let down, we just consumed just for the sake of it as we had paid huge amount and didn’t want to waste food. My suggestion and humble request to the restaurant owner is to go for limited dishes and give same quality for both Ala carts and buffet, else restaurant reputation will get spoiled by simple word of mouth and reviews. I have mentioned all these points in a detailed to your manager who was helping us. I can quote few restaurants names but don’t want to mention in this review which adopt a good quality policy for buffet and they are doing really well, Even I see Madhras is so popular, but please get your chef fixed or your policy for buffet menu fixed. A special day got spoiled by bad food preparation which is in your control and rains which is not in...
Read moreI loved the food, the server didn't bothered to serve the food, they just brought the food to table. There is no particular theme in decoration, they put together something. We didn't go for Buffet particularly because we expected the menu to be repeated and it was. Captain interacted well, made us comfortable, generally the vibe was to leave the guest to their choice, nothing was forced and didn't disturb us till we ate and paid.
If you are a vegetarian person who want to eat till you drop just go here and have a go at buffet, Rs. ~650/person price is still high since barbecue place will offer same food + barbecue for extra 100. But here there is no source for cross contamination since the restaurant only serves veg. I know one other veg. restaurant that offers Buffet but that costs like 850 so this is good from price perspective. But the buffet menu is limited and that is precisely why I choose A la Carte
We ordered,
Starter
Raasila Malai Hara Phool - Baked brocolli - 5/5 Classic Dim Sum - 5/5 Kung Pao Lotus Stem - 3.5/5 (I didn't get to enjoy the texture of Lotus Stem at all, probably this shouldn't be stir fried, even though this is top seller chef has to re-examine the dish or give another option where people can enjoy the natural texture of Lotus stem)
Main course
Jasmine Rice - 3.5/5 (Excepted the rice to be more nutty) Thai vegetable curry (green) - 4/5 Lasagne - 4.5/5 (They managed to imitate meat filling)
Drinks to end the feast, Filter coffee, Iced tea, Fresh Pinacoloda
The bill was around 3200, I tipped 50, there was no...
Read moreWe’ve been regular customers of this place ever since they opened for both, dine in and takeout.. today we went for a family lunch, initially made a reservation for 11.30 but they asked us to come after 12. We showed up at 12.15 and were the first people there and they asked us to wait again and buffet service started around 12.30 only.. Again we asked for table buffet while booking for a table through zomato and even received a call from them asking when we’ll come.. The thing is they have stopped table service at the restaurant and failed to mention that to us. We went with old people and the chairs at the restaurant are super heavy you can barely move them it gets tiring doing back and forth during a buffet service. Coming to the food, starters were great, less choices for the main course and the food tasted so bad almost inedible that my family had starters and icecream only, dessert except for the icecream we were given payasam and panna cotta very bery mediocre quality for the price.. We would have rather had ala carte instead. It was such a disappointment. I had the Spaghetti pesto which I’ve had so many times from this restaurant and it tasted super super mediocre, first was served alfredo, then was served just pasta in pesto sauce without veggies even though I clearly mentioned with veggies, coming to the pasta sauce it was very creamy and runny.. their pesto is usually semi dry and really yum. Sad to say their quality has become super low. Probably due to low quality we found the restaurant surprisingly empty, on a...
