I and my friend visited this restaurant at Nungambakkam Chennai for a light dinner. The restaurant was moderately crowded although we could get a 2 seater table instantly. We ordered a alu paratha, phulkas (north/east Indian handmade tawa roti) and matar paneer. The phulkas got our order delayed by 10/15 minutes which we were pre-advised. Ultimately the items were served and they were very good. Very tasty and cooked in North Indian style, specially the paneer item. The alu paratha was more of an alu naan or a lightly stuffed alu kulcha but was tasty. The phulkas were soft and fully blownup and good but man they were extremely costly. 3 phulkas cost Rs.100.00 😣. Doesn't know why phulkas are so costly in Chennai. Various fruit juices and shakes are also available which we didn't try. The restaurant remains crowded most of the time but foods are served without much delay. The cleanliness and behaviours of the staffs are good. Lastly, we enjoyed our dinner although cost of the phulkas still pinching us. Recommended though, for the taste...
Read moreThis was the hotel which reminds me my childhood memories. My mom always used to bring me to this hotel and order me special masala dosai which are favorites for 90s kids. It's a Udupi based hotel and the sambar and chutney are the typical one which we get for idly's and dosa's. The service is always been good and coffee with typical Udupi veg restaurant taste. Even though I must have rated this hotel 5/5 for their taste I have given 4/5 only because for their rates. This is one of the first hotel those days which increased the prices to double, triple. Since I reside in the same area and I remember after eating masala dosa my mom just paid 30 rs. Then it came 40 then 50, and 60 then transformed to 80 and 100 rs in a very short span of period. Now I think it's 120 or 130 they are charging for special masala dosai but not sure as I now a days not visiting this...
Read moreLast weekend, I visited this charming veg hotel with high hopes. The place has a cozy seating arrangement, soft lighting, and tasteful decor, all of which create a welcoming atmosphere. It almost feels like stepping into a friend’s living room! But here’s where the story takes a turn. Despite the delightful ambiance, the hotel seriously drops the ball on hygiene. The cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas is, to put it mildly, questionable. Dirty utensils and neglected tables seem to be a regular feature, as if the staff decided cleanliness was optional. This glaring oversight really dampens the dining experience, leaving you wondering if the food is as unclean as the surroundings. It’s a real shame because the place has the potential to be a top dining spot.
