I have been a regular visitor to this Restaurant for the past 20 yrs or so. It used to have quick and high standards of food when it was a non-AC Restaurant. After it was revamped and made a fully air-conditioned restaurant it's standard s fell. The quality of food became bad. The waiters turned rude. The managers were equally un-friendly. Yesterday (27.12.2024) I and my wife went to the restaurant by 11 am to have quick bite and some coffee. The steward who took the order asked all sorts of clarification before taking it. We ordered for sambar vada, sweet lime juice and coffee as there were not much option available. The food was served quick. But the sambar I sambar vada had so much salt. We ate it because we didn't have much time on hand. I called the steward who had taken the order that the vada unpalatable and not serve the sambar to others. He asked if he can call the manager. I told him to bring the manager. He vanished and didn't come back. Then we asked the waiter for the bill. 20 minutes had gone by and the waiter said the system was not working. I called this man who took the order and told him to get the bill. He rudely replied you go pay the bill in the counter of you are in a hurry. I asked him, where is the manager? First he lied telling that I didn't insist to see the manager. When I corned him he said the manager had gone out. What lies these staff speak just to get out of the situation. And he puts the blame on me that I said I was not interested in seeing the manager. Finally we had to pay the amount by just seeing the bill on the waiter's mobile.
The hotel has simply lost its standards both in food and in service. And this is not the first occasion I am seeing waiters and staff being rude to customers. This time I thought I must make a review lest the customers suffer at their hands
And till the end the steward made no effort to inform the kitchen that the sambar was loaded with salt!
I hope the management takes up this issue. Otherwise they will fall by the wayside, like so many reputed restaurants have vanished from...

Repeatedly did the same for the second time which was more intentional .Again we had a conversation and his way of explanation was rude lik unknowingly I did what should I now .we just walked by paying the bill Without even having the entire food and the manager who convinced us initially didn't even care about us and charged full amount and we didnt care about that too ..but finally he said one thing where I felt bad for their hospitality " Sir we forgot to add the water bottle to the bill"..Paying the full amount and haven't had the food fully and their main intention is to get money and not to apologize . Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at SVR Sangeetha Veg Restaurant in Nungambakkam, Chennai, and I left feeling thoroughly impressed. As a vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for places that offer delicious and satisfying options, and SVR Sangeetha definitely delivered.
The restaurant itself has a simple and inviting atmosphere. The focus is clearly on the food, and the menu boasts a familiar selection of South Indian dishes. But what truly elevates the experience are the fresh ingredients and the expertise in traditional South Indian cooking.
I particularly enjoyed their Masala Dosa. The dosa itself was crispy and light, and the potato filling was bursting with flavor. Their Sambar and Coconut Chutney were the perfect accompaniments, offering a delightful balance of spice and creaminess.
For those looking to explore beyond Dosas, SVR Sangeetha also offers a variety of tempting specialties. Their Pongal, a savory lentil and rice dish, is a must-try for its comforting warmth. If you're in the mood for something a bit lighter, their Uttapams, thick lentil pancakes, come with a variety of toppings to choose from.
Overall, SVR Sangeetha Veg Restaurant is a gem for vegetarians in Nungambakkam. The delicious food, friendly service, and reasonable prices make it a great choice for a casual lunch or dinner. I highly recommend...
