During our recent family trip to Chennai, we were keen to try authentic South Indian cuisine—and “ID” turned out to be the perfect choice. Nestled in the heart of the city, this restaurant doesn’t just serve food, it offers an experience steeped in warmth, flavour, and efficiency.
From the moment we stepped in, we were impressed by the cleanliness, ambience, and most notably, the hospitality. The staff were courteous, quick, and genuinely focused on creating a delightful dining experience. A special mention goes to Mr. Mario, whose attention to detail and personal engagement with each guest truly stood out. He didn’t just take orders—he ensured we felt welcomed and well-guided through the menu. His manner of handling customers is something every service-oriented professional should observe and learn from.
The food, cooked fresh and served piping hot, spoke for itself. Each dish had the right balance of spice and flavour, bringing alive the traditional South Indian palate. From crispy dosas to soft idlis and rich sambar, everything was authentic and satisfying.
At Mario’s suggestion, we ended our meal with their signature filter coffee—and it was exactly what we needed after a long, tiring day. Smooth, aromatic, and rejuvenating.
Overall, “ID” is more than just a restaurant—it’s a reminder of how genuine hospitality combined with good food can turn a simple meal into a cherished memory. We left with full hearts, fuller stomachs, and a firm decision to return on our next...
Read moreI visited Marina Mall outlet on OMR..For dishes like pav bhaji and korma, sambhar and aloo bhaji their bowl/katori is extremely small which serves very less quantity.. atleast they should give little big bowl/katori.
If we talk about staff..thay are too slow..if they serve you dosa then no sambhar..aloo masala and chutney served together...you hv to wait till your dosa gets cold and soggy.also they don't even know English so it's very difficult to explain anything. No tissues and spoons are there on the table..so again you hv to approach staff... they don't bother if you finish all meal without spoon especially sambhar.. Rava dosa served burnt... you can find better rava dosa in north India.. And this was when it wasn't the rush time... only two other families were there in the restaurant. I seriously don't know what they would do during rush hours.
Also you can see small cockroaches...

Never will go again to ID.such a worst experience. Roadside foods tastes much tastier. For them we can pay 170....
