Viswanathan Chettinatu Hotel — Restaurant in Zone 9 Teynampet

Very very poor response of cashier or owner i dont know who he is, i dint have food there so i dint say bad comments about food, the server is such an bad attitude guy i came to this hotel after searching from Google and travelled about 4 kms it was 11:50 pm at that time I asked about they have parota he is weaving his hands like not there, and i aske for meals they were ready on table but he is also weaving his hands again like not there, that too looking somewhere not even single word out from his mouth his owner is watching that while speaking some call, he is also not responding anything for that, and again i asked atleast what u have i am so hungry for the 3rd time he simply went away without speaking anything. I was so hungry like i would go fainted and fell down and at that situation their behaviour was so cheap, i dont know how they look at customers, i felt like he responded to me likewise i asked food for free to them. I don't know how they are rated good. I think respect and response to customers are much important than food quality and taste. Atleast change your behaviour from now after looking my comments. The OG chettinad hotel of Mylapore.

I've been eating at Viswanathan Chettinad Hotel for close to 7 years now as it is super close to where I love.

Their idly and Sambar is a match made in heaven and nothing can really go wrong with it on sick days, days when you want to have a simple meal. This is a standard consistent and no mess here.

The main problem is with their other dishes. There is no consistency when it comes to the food. One day it is exceptionally good and one day it is like how are people eating here ?

That's the biggest and the only problem with them. I guess your luck plays a huge role on the day you choose to dine in here.

If you are lucky you can get to eat the best Thenga ennai ( Coconut oil) Omlette with lots of onions, egg kothu parotta with yummy salna and their veg kurma with parotta is great too ( One some days).

I haven't tried their non vegetarian menu, but once a friend of mine tried the Prawn thokku gravy with them and mentioned how it was amazing and the size of the prawns were huge. So suggesting it from the review I heard.

I really hope they take in the feedback and maintain consistency and quality. If they would then this is definitely the OG Chettinad hotel...

Very unhygienic and below average food Let's start from the place as a whole it's more of a dungeon feel once u enter .. too much crowd and very little staff to assist u where to sit . U find urselves accommodate d with dingy sofas which are absolutely uncomfortable .. second: the washbasin sitting right in the centre of the dinning area .. they don't even clean it once I believe. With all the phelgm and saliva .. ibet u r gonna puke right there .. if u manage to pull urselves together and make it to the tabe.. u will not be asked what u want chumma someone from the billing will rush and ask the server to put leaf to eat before u even think of anything u will be forced to eat rice .. starter they bring and force u to eat... The billing person always comes and asks whether u want more (marketing gimmicks.). seriously it is toooo spicy literally ur tongue will be on fire.. this could be a cost cutting strategy they add spice to everything and makes u not to eat meals more...OVER PRICED PLACE .
