SRI Apparswamy Jeeva Samadhi / Temple — Attraction in Zone 9 Teynampet

As per Wikipedia Apparswami Temple is a Hindu temple built in honour of Apparswami, a 19th-century Saivite saint. The temple, situated on Royapettah High Road, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is built around his tomb over which a shivalinga was set up by his chief devotee Chidambaraswamy. The main deity is Sri Viswanatha alongside his consort Visalakshi Amman. There are also shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Lord Muruga, the Navagraha and Lord Shanishwara. You can also see a small shrine of Chidambaraswamy across the road opposite the entrance of this temple. A very serene campus in the midst of hustling Mylapore with a lot of trees, it also houses a meditation hall. This temple can be accessed by bus from Tiruvalluvar Statue bus stop and Luz Corner bus stop. Gave me a peace of mind..quiet and clean place.lord shiva is in d form of visvanathar and goddess parvathi is called visalatchi here...the lord Shiva's moolavar sanathi is built on top of apparswamy's jeeva samathi(one of 63 nayanmars)..lord Vinayagar is also SPL here ..he is called Nidhi Vinayagar where 3 Vinayagars will be placed in same row ..nd another Vinayagar is there by the name "Jaya Vinayagar" who helps in giving success to our attempts..and Kala bairavar is also present here..many ppl come here to fulfill their wishes and have success in...

Very neat and cleanly maintained Temple. Though small had a very divine experience. This Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the resting place of a Saivate monk Apparswamy.

Here in this Temple there are 2 shrines to Lord Ganesh, in one shrine we could see 3 Ganeshas, known as Needhi Ganesha. Needhi in Tamil means justice. It is believed that if you are facing any legal problems, praying here will immediately solve the problems.
