Service (waiters) were nice... But we had severe food poisoning... Had chicken karaage, yaki soba chicken and chicken ramen (dan dan). Immediately when food was brought to the table I could smell that chicken wasn't fresh but the spices were covering it up a bit... Thought maybe I'm too sensitive to smell and ate anyways... shouldn't have... After few hours of eating I felt nauseous and ate some medication but it didn't help. next few days were on toilet for us both... Still struggling with stomach pain, nausea. I am sure that it's from this restaurant because we didn't eat anything else, and other days before we ate only from places we know are good (ate many times). The food isn't that tasty too and not authentic (karaage and yaki soba). Please stay away at least from chicken if you don't want to spend your vacation on toilet.. Hope that they do something about freshness of chicken. Update: Still have slight stomach issues after 2 weeks (I never drink tap water, eat only in good cafes and visited Bali already 3 times. It's my first time getting such food poisoning in my life). But I contacted the restaurant and provided info about our visit. They said they will check the quality, so I put my review a bit higher in hope that they actually do that. Maybe it's the food suppliers fault....

I had the Kara Kara ramen here on the recommendation of the lovely staff, as well as the gyoza. Everything was delicious - on par with the ramen I’ve eaten back in Japan. The soup was flavourful and rich, noodles were the perfect texture and the gyoza filling was juicy. Love that they have the option of chicken chashu as well since I don’t particularly enjoy eating pork. What I’d mainly like to commend is the service - staff were incredibly attentive right from the very moment I entered the premises, they came out to greet me already. They also went through the menu with me and were very knowledgeable of their food (in terms of their different soup bases, the flavour profiles, etc.). Constantly refilled my cold ocha which was amazing in the hot weather. And as I was leaving, I saw the staff take out a standing fan and turn it on for some customers who were fanning themselves with a handheld fan. Truly amazing and conscientious staff, I have nothing but good things to say about this place! Wish I had more room to try their dessert though, which was a mochi ice cream that would’ve done wonders for the heat. 100/10 recommend, and would love to come back on my next...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kenji (Menya Kenji) in Canggu, Bali, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. With Putra making us so welcome.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the delicious chicken ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful, perfectly complemented by tender chicken slices and perfectly cooked eggs that added a delightful creaminess to each bite.

The gyoza was another standout dish, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Paired with their house-made chili sauce, each bite was an explosion of flavor that left me wanting more.

To top it all off, I indulged in one of their highball mocktails – the Pineapple Basil. This refreshing drink was a perfect blend of sweet pineapple and fragrant basil, creating a unique and delightful flavor profile that was both refreshing and satisfying.

Sitting outside in the courtyard, under the lanterns made it a great experience!

An incredible dining experience with top-notch food and drink options. Highly recommended for anyone...

Came for the perfect 5 stars review, expectation is definitely extremely high! When we first came, something about the vibe just don’t speak authentic to me (as they claimed to be). Service is nice, however, when we asked if the signature ramen is the kind of tonkotsu ramen, the waiter is left confused. Feel bad for the poor food knowledge considering they only have a few items to remember. We finally ordered their signature ramen (tonkotsu style) + karaage. The ramen soup is extremelyyyy thicccc, it’s not something i’m into. The noodles has this sort of ‘floury’ feeling and the texture is way too thin, it’d be nice to have a more al dente type that can absorb the thick soup better. Karaage is just ok, not getting anything special from it. For a place that has a perfect five star reviews, I definitely expected more tastewise. Not to add the lack of food knowledge by the staff. This place has potential and theres still room for improvement. Sadly, based on my experience, I don’t think it deserves the perfect rating.
