Nestled in the heart of Berawa, Kong is a restaurant that seamlessly blends sophistication with warmth. From the moment you step inside, the welcoming atmosphere and genuinely friendly service make you feel instantly at home. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, offering recommendations with a natural ease that enhances the dining experience.

The food at Kong is crafted with precision, each dish showcasing careful attention to flavour and presentation. The Duck Confit with Spiced Pumpkin Risotto is a standout, with its perfectly tender duck resting on a creamy bed of risotto. The gentle warmth of the spices and the slight tang of pickled pumpkin create a balanced, deeply satisfying dish.

Equally impressive is the 14-Day Dry-Aged Striploin, served with roasted garlic pomme purée and sautéed mushrooms. The steak is cooked to perfection, boasting a rich, deep flavour that reflects the skill behind it. In the short time (1.5 weeks) I’ve been here, I’ve already dined at Kong four times—and for good reason. This restaurant is nothing short of exceptional.

Let’s start with the service: impeccable. Every member of the staff is warm, attentive, and incredibly efficient. From the moment you step in, you feel genuinely welcomed, and nothing is too much trouble.

The drinks? Perfection. Every cocktail and beverage I ordered was exactly what I wanted—balanced, refreshing, and crafted with care.

And then, of course, the food. Oh, the food. Every bite is an explosion of perfectly curated flavors, each dish a masterpiece. We’ve tried the prawn pasta, lobster pasta, lamb ragu, steak, duck, eggplant, and sourdough starters—every single one was flawless. The consistency is remarkable; every visit has been just as outstanding as the last.

What makes Kong even more special is the passion behind it. The chef personally came out to greet us, and you can tell just how much love and dedication goes into every plate.

FOOD POISON alert We went to Kong last night for dinner. We were both healthy and feeling great. We ordered the seafood tower, and some smaller dishes. We got really sick, all night belly pain, diarrhea etc. In the morning we went in good faith to talk with the Manager & let him know about it. So they would be aware and possibly check to protect other costumers from it. The response was unprofessional & disappointing. Firstly no apology or any sign of empathy, Zero responsibility taken, and he told us we needed to present a medical paper to prove what I was saying was true! That’s the moment I decided to make a public review for any future costumer to be aware of this. It’s a pity. Kong used to be our favorite restaurant. For the record we are returning clients since 2020. But since the opening of borders the quality has decreased, the prices have increased (we paid way over 2million for a dinner) and there seems to be no care for the well-being of costumers. We won’t be coming back.

The beef tartare we feel could be improved immensely, it didnt really have much flavour. The lobster ravioli was incredible, i kept wanting more, everything was perfect about it. The mushroom ravioli too, so incredibly good, maybe could have used some element of citrus or mint to break the flavour, but still very good. The drinks werent good honestly, they seemed like their portions were off, not measured or done with care- I had a negroni, so you could tell. Overall id say that the menu is filled with raw food or food that is well sourced but not exactly cooked, which really theres lots of great seafood in Bali that can be sourced locally. When the chef does actually cook something its great.
