Decided to come here with a friend as it was new and we wanted to explore it. Began by receiving a boiling hot tea instead of an iced tea which i ordered, and a lukewarm tea instead of the hot tea i ordered. when i tried to politely request another glass as it was too hot, the waitress got very annoyed and rude and returned with the same drink dumped in a glass full of ice to cool it down which just made it lukewarm and watery. When our food arrived, the sauté mushrooms (a starter) was the same size as the spaghetti bolognese (a main course), with barely more then a handful of mushrooms and some thrown cabbage leaves on the side. Both the meals were okay but nothing special. It was extremely overpriced for the size and quality of both the meals, especially when the starter was the same size and almost price as a main. The owner came out multiple times when we were there, she did not even acknowledge us with so much as a smile or a hello or to check if we were enjoying our food. it was not until a group of tourists came in that she was extremely chatty and friendly with them (all whilst still ignoring us). The staff whilst young were very under trained, they did not know how to wait tables properly and upon asking for the bill, we had to wait 5+ minutes for the staff to calculate 4 items in front of us. They had a sign with card companies implying they accept card but when i tried to pay they said cash only. It’s okay that we had to pay with cash but they shouldn’t have it advertised if they can’t, as some people may only have card available on them. Overall, for a new restaurant it felt rushed, subpar, and definitely catered towards richer white tourists above anyone else, with more of an emphasis on “aesthetic” plating then good portion sizes or flavour. Will not eat again and can not recommend it to anyone. Sad to see a new restaurant fall...
Read moreTonight I had the pleasure to eat at Noya Kitchen for my last dinner in Ubud and it was a beautiful surprise! First of all: the location is amazing, both the surroundings and the restaurant are beautiful and peaceful, you eat hearing to sound of nature. Second, the service was great, the front of house was always attentive and friendly. Last but not least, the food is great! You have both options between traditional and international food. I had a delicious pumpkin soup and my friend had a traditional Indonesian meal. The portions are generous and the taste is amazing! We shared a tiramisu as a dessert and, as an Italian girl, I couldn't feel the difference between the one I eat in Italy and the one here. Unfortunately we didn't think about taking pictures. Thank you Noya Kitchen!! See...
Read moreHi! I had the good fortune of coming across Noya's when i was in Ubud recently. I had the Soto Ayam for lunch, then i stayed on and had the Chicken Kebab. Came back next day and ate the Dutch Goulash. Every dish was exceptional! Loved every bite! The Soto Ayam was about the best i have ever had! Chicken Kebab melts in your mouth! Succulent meat! Goulash was very good.
There was no MSG used in the cooking, a big relief to me since i am allergic to MSG!
I will be back eating at Noya's on 10th Dec when i return to Ubud for business! Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food served!
