Seaweed Resto — Restaurant in Bali

I usually come here to (try to) work.. always end up leaving… why?? Read on..

PROS: Amazing location, dog friendly, and decent coffee.

CONS: The worst music choice. I’ve given this place so many chances because the location is so good and I can bring my dog, but almost every time my friends and I have left because of the beyond-poor music choice.

Today was the last straw when they decided to blast something similar to Christian gospel music.. nothing against gospel music but why… just why play this at a beachside restaurant. After this they just shuffled from bad genre to worse genre (for a beachside restaurant). Why not try reggae, lofi, jazz, or even traditional Balinese music would fit. Just not gospel music followed by Backstreet Boys etc. And if we could at least drown it out with headphones that would help, but no, it’s blasted.

Also food is ‘relatively’ overpriced (fair because of the location) but also not very good in my experience.

All in all, if you like watching surfers with gospel music in the background followed by Backstreet Boys followed by 80s classics followed by sad break-up music, this is the place for you 🙌 ✨🎶 I know that to some people (whoever was in charge of the music) this makes all the sense in the world. Respect for keeping true...

Last night I witnessed how two tourists were harassed and blackmailed; the so called ‘Bali-Scam’. The two guys accidentally knocked over a scooter, however unfortunate this does happen. They immediately apologized and offered their insurance information and personal data. The damage to the scooter was just a scratch, nothing more. Soon a group of five gathered around the two men and demanded money; way to much money. As the two men repeatedly wanted to bring the scooter to a repair shop and handle things via their insurance the group began to turn angry and threatened with violence.

Worst thing of all everybody seemed to be in on the action and nobody helped. The staff looked-on, doing nothing and the security guards even took away the keys of the two tourists rendering them helpless.

Ps: the food was meh, service...

Posted on 19 Dec 2024: Got bitten by astray dog which made us went to clinic immediately and got rabies vaccine. No care at all from the place apart from just dropping us to the clinic and left. Truly dangerous place to be. Beware.

Posted on 20 Dec 2024: We woke up late today since from 1-3 am today we're looking for rabies SAR immunoglobulin, which is hard to get, vaccine isn't enough (which paid only 2x by restaurant, we need to get 4x in different interval). The item which we mention, depends on the weight of the person, is needed, and we ended up paying 50 million by our own pocket money (10-15 million per vial).

We won't delete the review. People should know how dangerous it is.

Our trip is screwed because of this....
