Sand Bar — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

Dear Sandbar,

I’d like to express my disappointment to the lack of service and help from your employees. I myself a young traveler decided to check out your place when my phone was stolen from my bag. When I approached the bar they were uncooperative and laughed at me. Security was not vastly spread across the area but in one position, as well as when asking the bartending staff and not having any help from the security. I am very disappointed as I was looking forward to having a lovely night. If I did not have some lovely friends to help my get home, which they didn’t have to. it should have been your staff to step in and help, I would have been stranded.

If more was done maybe we would have been able to find my phone. But to be laughed at and when asked if they could take our details to see if they find anything they refused. It was so disappointing. Please do better as young travellers constantly visit this place and to be a solo traveller I could not imagine the panic of someone that is in that position, and have no way to contact anyone.

Sandbar Bali – Honestly, I Don’t Recommend It

Went there expecting a lively beach bar vibe—but honestly, it was such a letdown. Here’s what I personally experienced: Totally empty, even during peak season I came around midnight thinking it would be packed. Nope. It was dead quiet. Not even close to the hype people used to talk about. Slow and careless service The staff seemed uninterested and unbothered. Took forever just to get someone’s attention. Place felt old and poorly maintained It literally started raining inside the bar because the roof was leaking. I’m not kidding—it was that bad. No energy or entertainment No good music, no crowd, no vibe. It just felt awkward and boring, like waiting for something to happen that never did. Overpriced for what you get The drinks weren’t great, and for those prices? Not worth it at all.

if you are a woman beware, this is a horribly unsafe place, and the staff will not support you if you are harassed or if any of your belongings get lost. In fact, they will push you off and ask you to leave. Me and my friends lost a lot of money, and we were harassed, assaulted and chased by locals and foreigners alike and received absolutely no help from staff or the people around. The entire area is suspicious and shady at best and it is advised that female solo travellers do not go there alone, unless they’re going in a large group and even in a large group, do not carry a lot of cash or your credit card since it will be stolen and NO ONE will help. Even the locals around are really creepy and the area is filled with REAL CRIMINALS WITH CRIMINAL RECORDS, as we were informed by the local women who frequent the place. also, no toilets available.
