Byasa Café is an exceptional choice for an ambient, modern Japanese-inspired brunch spot or a stylish work-from-café setting in the downtown Bandung. What I found interesting, the layout and seating arrangement is designed to encourage social interaction through subtle psychological cues. The atmosphere strikes a balance between intimacy and sociability, enhanced by a harmonious Japanese zen aesthetic. A pre-concepted color scheme of maroon, xanadu green, warm brown, and grey sets a refined yet tranquil tone, reinforcing the café’s inviting atmosphere.
The entrance itself is a visually captivating experience; an elongated alley lined with mirrors on both sides, creating a striking illusion of depth while doubling as an Instagram-worthy photo spot. Adding to its uniqueness, it is a creative adaptation of a former one-way vehicular entrance to a residence.
While I didn’t have the chance to explore any of the food menu, having already eaten beforehand, I did come across what is now my top favorite beverage: Paloma Fuse. This exceptionally refreshing drink is a fusion of pineapple, coconut water, tangy pomelo, and chilled cranberry, with a Himalayan salt rim that subtly enhances its tropical-salty profile. The contrast of flavors perfectly complements the café’s slow, social, and tropical dining concept, making it an experience in itself.
Beyond the indoor setting, the café also boasts a uniquely designed backyard garden, which is another visually striking, Instagram-worthy feature. Every detail of the space, from its layout to its decor, creates a seamless blend of aesthetics, comfort, and social engagement. Whether for a relaxed brunch, a casual gathering, or an inspiring workspace, this café delivers an atmosphere that feels effortlessly sophisticated...
Read moreOur visit to Byasa in Bandung was a memorable culinary journey, blending traditional Indonesian flavors with warm hospitality. The restaurant's modern, inviting ambiance made us feel relaxed the moment we stepped in, setting the stage for an exceptional meal.
We tried a variety of dishes, starting with the Oxtail and Soto Betawi, both prepared to perfection. The Oxtail was tender and flavorful, and the Soto Betawi, a classic Jakarta soup, was rich and aromatic, with a wonderful balance of spices. The Salmon was equally impressive—beautifully cooked, with a delicate, flaky texture that paired excellently with its accompanying flavors. Every bite showcased the kitchen’s dedication to quality ingredients and authentic taste.
Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. The servers were not only attentive but genuinely friendly, always ready with a smile and helpful suggestions to enhance our dining experience. Their warmth added a personal touch that made us feel truly welcome.

The moment you walk in, you will be greeted with an entrance full of glass with aesthetic plants. There was indoor and outdoor area. Soon will be 2nd floor for more outdoor seating. Both indoor and outdoor area has its own plus point.
Food was so tasty! We ordered 3 foods and 2 drinks, and none of them were dissapointing. The portion were generous.
