SUPER DELICIOUS STEAK, for Bandung standard, especially when combined with their choice of butter. The steak was as good as its quality (ordered everything above MB 6) and it didnt disappoint.

Altho they did have a very unhygienic SOP when serving cooked meat. This is a basic standard knowledge and common practice every steak house should know, which they intentionally ignored: never serve cooked steak on the same board u use for raw steak. They almost served cooked steak on the board they previously used to serve raw steak if i didnt say anything. They did cover it with a thin baking paper beforehand and took it out after, but i doubt that does anything since to remove any bacteria coming from raw meat u actually have to wash it with hot soapy water. Idk if a thin baking paper can separate bacteria from the raw steak to the board. Should be common knowledge for a steakhouse, but apparently not for them.

I complained and asked them to switch the board, but they talked back saying that they've covered it with paper anyway (and almost didnt want to switch) but i was super pregnant so i guess that gave them a push to change the board as they didnt wanna risk anything. TBH this is unsafe even for non-pregnant people! This is such a basic knowledge they should know but purposely ignored, which makes me think of what other unprofessional and unhygienic protocol they do in the kitchen that we dont know? Tbh most people in Indonesia (or bsndung particularly) wouldnt care about this, but i think for the price of the steak (we ordered everything above 700rb/steak and there were 9 of us), u cant ignore this very basic thing.

Using clean boards to serve cooked steak isnt even a hassle... Just bring the same number of clean boards as the number of steak we ordered and we're good to go.

Although other than that, the steak was greattt. I LOVE steak and their steak was above standard, even better than other steakhouses in Jakarta. Other minor complaint i may have is only that they serve the sides too early (about 10 minutes eaelier than the steak, which still need to cook in the grill for an extta 5-10 minutes) and theyre all cold once the...

Impressive steakhouse. Quality of the meat is great. I also like the concept that they grill the meat in front of you. My only beef is they should've had better cook, the one cooking my steak was quite nervous and keep flipping my steak, ruining good sear and some juice escaped. To be fair, he did cook the steak to a still highly enjoyable piece. That said, the option of different salts is also impressive, I've never encountered that before. The sides are also very good. I'm quite impressed with their marrow bone butter. To me it tastes just like butter, but to have that option itself is sincerely a child of a great mind. The sides are also perfectly platted, just like what you expect from a cute bistro in Paris or San Francisco. Their escargot also earns high praise from me. Saturated with butter and herbs, the snail is tender and smooth. The desserts are very tantalizing to look at, perfect platting with perfect finishing touches. Almost too pretty to eat. Their Crema Catalana (not really Spanish version of Crème Brûlée, but taste similar enough) is very good and to be honest I wouldn't expect to find one in Indonesia. The cake, although looks good, isn't much to talk about. Maybe mediocre at best. I guess they need to balance their ingenuity at Crema Catalana with something very obscure.. Expensive? I think the price is worth the food, so it's quite fair. I love the ambiance. I like the building a lot, which looks like a modernized old colonial house. The decor is also fabulous, worthy of high class restaurant in Europe. So why not 5 stars, you ask? The waiters. I never sit well with waiters who are hard to be called on, doesn't matter because they're snobby, lazy or they're under staffed during the weekend rush. It's such a shame a great spot like this doesn't have a 100% service to go along with, because it's such a mood killer.

The place itself has different kinds of intimate dining spots for you to comfortably enjoy your meal under the well-designed place, including smoking areas with sofas. It is best to reserve your table from first hand via Google, where you can see the available hours and inquire about special requests for a spot if needed. When we visited this place for dinner, we were warmly welcomed by the servers from the receptionist and led to our desirable dining spot. They would willingly explain the different kinds of premium steak cuts and qualities that best suit our interests along with their recommendations. They also kindly offered if we would like our steaks to be cooked on our dining table, which I gave it a go to achieve the maximum experience. We ordered 400g Dry-Aged Australian Wagyu Striploin. After waiting for 10-15 minutes, the chef came to our table and delicately cooked our steaks to our preferences. While cooking, he also humbly explained about different wagyu qualities, dry aging, and how best to enjoy it with different kinds of salts. The steaks are without question cooked to perfection, along with its side dishes and vegetables. You can also slightly re-warm your meat with the fire console at the center of the table. All in all, it was one great dining memory that I will surely be fond of. The experience is definitely worth its price. Looking forward to trying another meal!

Gijon Steakhouse offers you a premium dining experience in Bandung with its varieties of cuisines, adequate services, and the ambiance of one warm and classy steak house. The place itself has different kinds of intimate dining spots for you to comfortably enjoy your meal under the well-designed place, including smoking areas with sofas. It is best to reserve your table from first hand via Google, where you can see the available hours and inquire about special requests for a spot if needed. When we visited this place for dinner, we were warmly welcomed by the servers from the receptionist and led to our desirable dining spot. They would willingly explain the different kinds of premium steak cuts and qualities that best suit our interests along with their recommendations. They also kindly offered if we would like our steaks to be cooked on our dining table, which I gave it a go to achieve the maximum experience. We ordered 400g Dry-Aged Australian Wagyu Striploin. After waiting for 10-15 minutes, the chef came to our table and delicately cooked our steaks to our preferences. While cooking, he also humbly explained about different wagyu qualities, dry aging, and how best to enjoy it with different kinds of salts. The steaks are without question cooked to perfection, along with its side dishes and vegetables. You can also slightly re-warm your meat with the fire console at the center of the table. All in all, it was one great dining memory that I will surely be fond of. The experience is definitely worth its price. Looking forward to trying another meal!
