Hoo Kee - Cihapit — Restaurant in Bandung City

Compared to the new crops of noodle shops popping up in Bandung, this is the tastiest one. I am skeptical at first because other noodle shop with vaguely racist names are making noodles that are downright basic. Like they spent more on branding than the cooking.

Aanyway. The noodle is perfectly cooked and it’s tasty on its own, the steamed chicken and roasted chicken are very good, soft, and not overcooked at all!

The duck meat is tough, tho. And we got the thigh. I don’t know if its the cooking or if they have to source a cheaper duck to get at this price point.

Which brings me to my last point, the price is honestly too cheap for this kind of food. They can probably charge 50% more and it’ll still...

My friends and I ordered roasted peking duck on yamien, roasted chicken on hainan rice, and stir fried kailan.

Roasted peking duck on yamien came with a small portion of bakso kuah which really complimented the noodle and the peking duck. It was bomb.

The Hainan rice on the other hand... tasted good but somehow doesn't taste like actual hainan. Basically seasoned rice but not the OG hainan rice. Still good, but wasn't what I expected.

The stir fried kailan was... not stir fried. It was deep fried. The title is misleading. This is the only menu I'd not order again i think. Too salty...

This place serves the best Hainanese rice in Bandung. Every component of the dish is delicious —from the Hainanese rice itself to the roast chicken, and even the chili oil and ginger condiments. It's worth every penny. They also serve noodles, fried rice, and dimsum. I hope they remain consistent with both the taste...
