Stayed here for 8 nights in March 2019 in Mini Bungalow #7 which is the only detached room in the property. All other six |rooms are in three groups of two and kind of surround the pool.|We enjoyed our stay here very much. Our room was at the rear of the property so there was no noise at all from the road out front, even during the day. The property felt like a kind of sanctuary in many ways and was a pleasant place to be at any time of the day or night.|The room itself was nice and cleaned thoroughly every day. The aircon worked well, as did the TV. The lamps flickered a bit at times. The bathroom was OK and even had an exhaust fan which I donât think Iâve ever seen in similar properties. There was a kettle, fridge and in room safe also.|It had everything we needed.|The bed was superb. Very comfortable. Sleep quality was excellent.|As with anything, if you look for faults youâll find them.|Our room is probably due for a bit of a makeover and was starting to look a little tired. Some of the plastering (especially on the ceiling) was starting to come adrift and looked like it could do with a lick of paint. The bathroom also looked like it was due for some TLC. An easy fix I think.|The pool was cool and very refreshing on a hot humid day. It was kept clean and the loungers were comfortable.|Meals and drinks were delivered poolside on request.|There is a restaurant out front where breakfasts were served daily which was popular with guests from other hotels.|The breakfast included in the room rate though was very basic and I found myself paying a little extra (Rp25,000) to upgrade to the Big Bali Breakfast which was more than adequate. We ate lunches and dinners in the restaurant (separate review) which were nice.|All the staff were great. Isti was lovely and would clean our room thoroughly every day while we were at breakfast.|Made, who looked like she was in charge was lovely and would say hello most days and make sure we were comfortable.|We really liked the location of Gardenia. Massage and laundry were right next to the hotel and it was a very easy 2-3 minute walk to get to Jalan Cemara where there were lots of bars, restaurants and shops, etc. A quick cut-through the Mercure Hotel almost opposite and the beach was 5 minutes away.|We have been to Bali (and Sanur) many times and could definitely recommend the Gardenia to anyone looking for no frills ârustic boutiqueâ...
Read moreRooms for people with a disability are hard to find in Sanur. I was so happy to find the disabled room at Gardenia and happier that the room met all my expectations. The room has a queen bed and is large enough for someone who is in a wheelchair. With enough room to get around without any obstacles. The bathroom also is reasonably large with a rail either side of the shower as well as the toilet. The only draw back is that there is no shower chair supplied or toilet chair. There is tea and coffee facilities and a small refrigerator and TV. Some small extras tissues, bug spray and insect spray. The verandah is a lovely space with table and chairs and has a ramp for a wheelchair. It was a lovely spot to spend a couple of weeks relaxing. The small pool is spotless and has a couple lounge chair on which to relax. It is only a very short walk to the beach. Best of all staff are...
Read moreThis guest house has only 7 rooms and is set in a pleasant garden with a pool as well as a cafe and shop. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable with everything we needed. TV, fridge, wifi large walk in shower in a big bathroom. As this is a small guest house there no problems with getting a seat at the pool. |The breakfast was a selection from a set menu which was good. One of the positives of this guest house is certainly the staff who were all extremely friendly and could not do enough to make our stay very enjoyable. We had dinner here on two ocassions and the food was very good, with the bonus of a live duo playing on a Sunday night, who were very good to listen to.| This guest house is not far from the beach or from many of the eateries in south Sanur.|Highly recommend this...
