Mona Lisa Restaurant — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

Visited with a friend who'd been a long time customer and said it was her favorite in the area but it seems to have gone down somewhat since.

The restaurant has a lovely presentation for the area and certainly conveyed an expectation that the food would be more restaurant tier than pub-grub, I mean, a nice pub, but still, not what was expected.

Started well with nice bread and tomato dish to clean your palate and get started (or smother in garlic butter..).

I had the bacon wrapped beef from the pictures which neither had much flavor, the sauce doing the heavy lifting there to have any taste in the meal. Freezer to frier chips and a very small side salad was a tad disappointing in the so far great dining experiences we've had in Bali for the past two weeks.

Dessert was pleasant enough, but took quite some time to come out, especially in comparison to the brevity with which the main was served, though the restaurant had gotten somewhat busier since we'd first arrived.

Overall not a bad experience, just based off of the past experience of our friends and the expectation set by the lovely finish it just wasn't as good as experience as we had anticipated (and, somewhat feel we'd paid for, given the price compared to most of Bali...

Honestly one of the best overall dining experiences I’ve ever had. (We eat out a lot! So this is a genuine compliment!)

It was busy but we were greeted by beautiful smiles by all the lovely ladies serving.

The kitchen is open to view: always a good sign!

The menu is modern European and traditional Indonesian. It’s expansive with lots of choice.

Drinks arrived quickly as did a complimentary deconstructed bruschetta with what I suspect was home made bread. Delicious!

Deli was our waitress and she was so beautifully engaging; and a true professional - what a delight.

The lumpia and avocado prawn starters were fresh and superb in their taste & presentation.

The red snapper and chicken Lolita main courses were full of flavour and both cooked perfectly.

Desert was fresh fruit and a simple vanilla ice cream to round off our meal.

Arak cocktails to finish off our night. Perfection!

The bill was incredible value for money.

I cannot wait to come back!

We have dined here multiple times over multiple trips this trip (2020)to Sanur Bali,Mona Lisa never fails to please, My wife and I had the Ribs, They were delicious, well seasoned and the meat literally fell of the bone. The service was as usual perfect, We highly recommend you try Mona Lisa for yourself. Back again 2022/23, Added a couple of pictures, The above commentary still holds up.
