Having read some good critics and tempted by the menu with several Balinese meals, We came to this restaurant. First impression is quite good. Some tables are reserved . Looked like some customers were used to eat there. Installed in the back room, you hardly hear the noise the street. There are plenty of plants, you could imagine yourself in the jungle. There's music but not too noisy. Quite relaxing. Couldn't wait to get the menu ordered. Meanwhile, we drank 1 mojito. There is cane sugar and rum in mojito's recipe. Looks like they don't know it in this restaurant, because both were absent in the beverage we had. Too bad ... At last, after a long, long time of wait, meals arrived. There were duck, pork, prawns vegetables, rice and prawn chips. Only one word can describe all these meals : 'awful'. Everything was dry and hard. Flavours were desperately inexistent. Even the rice seemed to have been steamed the day before. Ok, it was nicely presented in pyramid shape. But who cares about nice shape when taste is so deceiving !!!! If you make addition of the waiting, the poor quality of mojito and the terrible meals, this place is definitely and without any doubt the worst of the worst restaurant we had in Bali in 5 or 6 stays on this beautiful island and with a bill of more than 700 000 IDR, you leave the place with a real bitter sensation.
For more than ten times less money, you can eat delicious skewers full of taste at the night market, only 20 minutes away by foot.
Do not hesitate and go eat there...
Read moreComplimentary peanuts were delicious. Ordered the premium steak - delicious, well cooked. Went cold quickly but no dramas, veg good but minimal serve. 200grms was a good size (cause Bali meals are quite small.) Mum got the tuna salad - tuna cooked perfect, salad menu stated tomatoes but they forgot to add them - we didn’t bother following up on this. Decided to get dessert - dessert was terrible - hence the 4/5 stars. Got the apple pie - so not worth it. It was cold and the pastry was soft and mooshy, didn’t taste any apple, more so tasted the sultanas in it - minimal filling for sure and the sauce did not go at all? Very random, was like a berry sauce? Best thing was the ice cream. Mum got the crème brûlée - didn’t rate it, had this weird taste then we figured out it was like the fake banana lollies that you get. Disappointed, assumed maybe it was going to be vanilla bean infused? Should’ve been mentioned on the menu banana infused because it was really strong, so much so we didn’t eat much of it. Maybe a few tea spoons. So all in all, meals good but don’t...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic restaurant - I would say the best in Sanur. The staff are very friendly and attentive (especially Michael), making sure that you have everything you want. We visited twice during our recent 9 day stay. The steak (imported) just melted in your mouth, and my husband's ribs (also imported) were the best he's had for a long time. Second time we had the Babi Guling 3 course dinner for 2 people. You need to ensure that you book this at least 24 hours in advance. Started with Soto Ayam, then the Babi Guling with crispy crackling, beautifully tender meat, pork stays and traditional Indonesian vegetables. Finally we had apple pie and icecream. All delicious and well worth the (just under) $40 AUD for the two of us. Would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant if you...
