Tree Bar at Maya Sanur — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

Very disappointed…

I’ve been to the restaurant at maya resort before & I’ve had the best experience, but unfortunately this time was different 😫 I am vegan and I came to maya for dinner with my non-vegan friends. I was confident I would have some great food (because of my previous experience on valentines special dinner) this time they didn’t have any vegan dishes on the manu apart from white rice, fries and some olives. It’s not the first time that this happened to me in a restaurant so I have asked the waiter to check with the chef what they could make for me, but the answer was: nothing. I was going back and forth with 5 different people and spend 30min discussing about the possible vegan options but they could not figure this out.. After all I made them steam some veggies for me but it was definitely not a dinner that i expected 😬 I was so surprised with their lack of vegan food on the menu, their inability to come up with a simple dish solution and rather offering me snacks for dinner. ​Tree Bar at Maya Sanur is an experience that's all about the location, and it's a bit of a mixed bag. While you are right on the beach, the view is a bit obscured, so you don't get that full, sweeping ocean vista you might expect. Still, the overall atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed.

​The food is decent, but the portions are small, especially when you consider the high prices. You're definitely paying for the "on the beach" setting, even if the view isn't perfect. The value just isn't there, and you'll likely leave feeling like you paid too much for what you got.

​The drinks were also a letdown. I ordered a mixed berry drink that tasted like it was made with frozen fruit—lacking in flavor and not very refreshing. The cocktails overall were bland and underwhelming.

​While it's not a bad spot to relax, it's not one I'd return to. The combination of high prices, small portions, and disappointing drinks, all without that perfect ocean view, makes it hard...

Massive shoutout to all the amazing staff who work tirelessly at this very special place, creating a warm and welcoming space for joy, connection and friendships.

They are kind, attentive, amazing people who enable the great vibes everyone experiences here.

Whilst the decor, beachfront location and pool all play a part, I’d like to highlight first and foremost the beautiful soul Intan, who provides exceptional service with a warmth and professionalism you rarely find these days.

Special mention also to Ely and Miryani who served me upstairs today. I appreciate you both 🙏🏻
