the owners are lovely people but…we had serious Bali belly for three days after our meal there. We found the food to be pretty ordinary, a watery curry, greasy spring rolls, and a bland omelette. We also felt obliged to give the owner’s daughter conversational English practice - it’s hard to say no - but we really only went for a quiet meal. Then after dinner we had a 15 minute “rant” from the lovely owner, Eddie. It was too much, it was hard to understand and seemed mostly to describe how little money the family has, and how that affects his daughter’s prospects. We are very sorry for their situation, but once again, we just wanted a quiet meal, but supporting local families by eating at a Warung. While the menu may be short, the food is excellent value for money but more importantly you’ll feel as if you’re eating in someone’s home. If that’s important to you as well as supporting a local family whose employment was impacted the pandemic, then you simply need to put this on your list to try.
