Mesmerising stay in Persona:
Overview, recommendations and pro tip:
I went to solo to Bali in Jun’23 and I had intended to stay at Aston. But I’m really thrilled that Aston was fully occupied and It was destined for me to stay here. This is a boutique, quaint little jewel located just at 3-4 min walk from Gili T boat pier. You don’t need to take a Cidomo (horse carts). Similar to other resorts, this has a beachfront and also a diving center located in the Hotel in case you wanna go Scuba. You can take a cycle on rent from the resort itself which cost nearly 1 Lakh IDR and explore the surreal island.
Rooms and property look and feel (5 on a scale of 5):
I had opted for their pool view room, which were absolutely stellar. Its quite a unique concept in a compact space. Though sometimes your privacy might be invaded since people glide on the path from there onwards to go to their rooms. But I was solo and I had no headaches in that aspect. The room was compact and had all the things you need for a perfect stay. Plus they are very eco friendly and don’t serve anything in plastics. Their washroom was aesthetic and gives you Balinese vibe. Overall the property is pet friendly and it has cats lurking around (I’m a pet lover and It was a dreamland for me). This little gem had such positive atmosphere overall during my stay, I always felt home.
Hospitality (5 on scale of 5):
Top notch is an understatement. Special mention to the kind lady at the reception (forgot her name, apologies but she mentioned she was from Lombok). She is such an asset to your team. She was so warm and friendly and really gave stellar recommendations about anything and everything. The other staff members were fantastic as well also I had a brief encounter with the manager when I was checking out, such a great guy. Overall the team puts up a great show.
F&B (4 on scale of 5):
Their in-house restaurant serves great Indian food. I was craving for some good Indian food after a while being aloof from it. I tried their Paneer masala and Naan. It just took me back to my hometown. It was perfectly cooked and gravy was flavourful. Service can be improved at the restaurant area and prices are a bit heavy on the pocket. Also the breakfast menu needs an upgrade. Quite less options and its not a buffet.
VFM (4.5 on scale of 5):
Pro’s: 1) A-class hospitality 2) Closer to Gili T pier (walkable) 3) Quaint, well maintained and comfortable rooms and property 4) Divine Indian Food 5) Pet friendly 6) Beachfront and bicycle available on rent
Constructive feedback: 1) Breakfast needs an upgrade 2) Service can be stepped up at the...
Read moreMy daughter insisted I stay here as she had loved it. I'm so glad I listened!||One of the first GREAT things about the property is how close it is to the ferry terminal. No need to belabour one of those poor wee horses that pull the tax carts - it's a few minutes walk.||Every member of staff I encountered was nice (as well as professional) from the outset. Met the manager/owner? at the end of the stay and she was delightful - and perhaps the leader who sets the standard.||The free breakfast is a little limited and next time (because there will be one) I might just opt not to have free breakfast as I'd rather just pay for it and have wider choice and better coffee!||The Indian food is VERY good (as is the coconut water - fresh from the coconut).||I had one of the "poolside" rooms and it was nice - spacious and with a really nice bathroom. The surroundings are wonderful and having the pool out front (with hammock) is a really special scene.||The only negative issues I had were some VERY noisy people partying right outside each night. They deserved to enjoy Gilly just as much as I did - but I probably should have asked reception to temper things a little or at least put a time limit on it. Luckily I had really good silicone earplugs otherwise I would have got no sleep.||The silicone earplugs are great - but no match for the rooster that started his day at 04.30 every morning! Since he's not a great layer, I'd suggest the Pesona restaurant do sleepers and diners a favour ASAP.......||The dive centre at Pesona was EXCELLENT - really good staff/crew. Super safe and professional as well as being really passionate and pleasant.||The on-site spa is also excellent at prices that make you gasp if you are more used to doing your spa stuff in Vail, CO. I think I'd do spa sessions every day I...
