We came to this restaurant following the good reviews about their food and service. Once arrived the service was okay, our server did not seem confident but was kind. We ordered 2 sirloin steaks, 250g. When eating the steak, one of which was 55% fat and 45% chewy steak, definitely not worth it. The fat was hard and grisly and tough. The other steak had a normal amount of fat on and was edible. I complained to the server about the lack of meat on one steak compared to the other, who was told by the chef that “sirloin steaks always have loads of fat on compared to the meat. If you don’t want fat, you need to order a different type of steak”. The chefs then smiled at us and laughed among themselves. As someone who has travelled and is paying for a service, this seemed rude and unprofessional and had a lack of understanding. The server taking payments understood my complaint and was very sincere, the other staff not so much. The atmosphere is okay but wouldn’t recommend, many other restaurants serving much better quality food and service.
*As the restaurant has replied to this review following inaccurate information and clear unprofessionalism. This meal was brought up to the staff who were rude and laughed at us, this seemed like it put a lot of stress and worry onto the server so instead we stayed put but I also complained for the 2nd time when paying, is that enough? I was kind and polite about it? I went to gili t not expecting Michelin star food but edible food that were served with respect. We did NOT eat “all” the steak, we ate what was edible and that wouldn’t choke us. I’m not writing an essay as a spy but to inform other travellers of the rude staff and from your response, unprofessionalism on your end. The server was trying their best I agree, they were very shy but kind, however it falls on your staff for pushing them out there without clear training. If anything I felt bad for the lack of support the server got. Fix your staff, food and...
Read moreGreat value for the price ! I had the tomato chicken, sweet and sour chicken and mixed vegetables. The amount of food was reasonable and the price was also very good for what I got. The staff were kind and even gave me some advice on the best stuff to get for my taste. The formula was a kind of cafeteria where you build your own plate from a selection of various dishes. The only thing I would have changed is that the food was kind of cold, but it’s normal for this format of restaurant. It was so flavorful and the service was so good that I had to give 5 stars. I sadly discovered this diamond in the rough on my last day at Gili T, but I sure would’ve came back every day for lunch ! Thank you...
Read moreThe restaurant is exactly behind the night market, right at the entrance of the valley. We ordered nasi campur (with sambal-cooked duck), beef burger, bruschetta, spaghetti bolognese, orange juice, fresh coconut, and pineapple juice. The appearance and taste were delightful and pretty much worth the price, since they were served in big portions. The staff was super friendly, yet some of them seemed a bit confused don't know why. I loved the bruschetta and how fresh the tomatoes were. The nasi campur was great, just like the homemade one. However, the burger bun was too hard to cut so I ate it messily, though the patty was tasty. Great place to...
