I came for dinner with families and children during weekdays. Chuan Tin was once located within the mall now has it own building. Parking spot are limited since it is by the side of main road. Interior are fine, comfortable, nothing special, but clean and they pay attention to cutlery hygiene by boiling it with hot water before giving it to us. Service is okay, they are attentive and quick response. They have second or third floor available for dining or book for special event. Food here is quiet affordable in terms of price, their average portion is probably only for 2-3 person which is affordable, while they do give option for larger one which has different price. Chuan tin resembles Pten with affordable and less tastier, they have the same chili which I like but not as the one from P*tien.
Can't remember some of the price of the menus We order lomie medium size (around IDR 90k), this size could be share for around 5-6 person, taste okay, delicious, generous with fillings, noodles taste kinda hard though. Nothing special but it is worth ordering. I would love to eat this if I'm craving for lomie but with affordable price.
The chuan tin chicken (around IDR 60-70k/portion), 1 whole chicken cut into tiny chunk, very dry, some of them are juicy, but mostly dry, serve with this white yellowish powder kinda seasoning, didn't help though. Better eat it with the chili sauce they serve on table.
Sapo tahu (around 40k) small portion could only be for 2 ppl, fillings mostly consist of the tofu, taste are just fine.
Gurame asam manis (IDR 98k) , portion are big, the asam manis sauce can be separated, But I'm particularly sensitive with the earth ground smell of gurame, and this one has that smell which makes me stop eating it immediately.
Lumpia udang (IDR 70k around) small cut lumpia, with pair of sour sweet sauce, around 7-8 chunk, taste delicious and they are generous with the shrimp within the lumpia, despite small chunk.
Mun tahu , nothing special from this dish, just typical mun tahu but with bland taste I need to add soy sauce to this dish.
The rest are just fine. Overall, I might order the wrong menus, some of their dish looks appetizing, would love to came back and try their other dish, and this is definitely might be my go to for chinese restaurant with affordable price but clean and...
Read moreCozy place to eat simple yet outstandingly good hokian lo mie (noodle) in Mall Kelapa gading. The place is clean, has lots of table, round table and squere table. I always come for a Saturday lunch with my spouse just table for two, and yes the place is always full. That's why we always come early at 11-11.30 AM.
They specialise in hokian lomie (noodle) that is thick in a slightly sticky clear souce, with a lot of vegetables, pork meat, fried pork meat balls, prawn, and clams! Yup very good for my taste. We also always order crabs meat soup with asparagus for starter, Nanking chicken to raiser our palates, and fried squid in salt and chilli to make us happy lol 😂. Still the main star is hokian lo mie!
The staffs are very friendly, very responsive, and helpful. They also give customer discount coupons that can be redeemed for next order...
Read moreOkay first, i came during break fasting on Sunday but it's not like the place is packed! It was a barren wasteland when i came! So why the service was so bad? The food came randomly at slow pace and after the food came, the waiter don't bother to give us any utensils to eat it! We need to asked several times to got it.
It would be alright if the food was great, the shrimp lumpia is mostly dough, their famous lomie is bland, the deep fried chicken is so small i'm afraid to share it. The price is reasonable but that's not enough for me...
