Read moreI came for lunch today with no expectations. Was there with husband and in laws and we left very happy.
The biryani rice with chicken tikka, lamb curry, vegetables curry were satisfying . I like the Indian sauces they made here. Honestly soooo good. The naan however was rather mediocre.
The staffs at the food stations were generous. I came to ask for a couple of sashimi slices and he gave me over a few. Padahal udah bilang, “dikit aja ya, mas.”
But of course, there’s nothing unsatisfying of the kind services they provide :).
The focaccia was probably the best i have ever had in my life. I kid you not. It’s slightly crispy outside, with a moderate cheesy taste and enough yet not too much of herbs.
The Spanish and Greek food also deserve thumbs up. They made this traditional Germany food (spaetzle) which was creamy and savory but was also very good. I had to had an extra of it. Really, i took another portion of it because it was so good.
The chicken parmigiana was also very good. My father in law went back to the station to take his second cut.
I also had a try of the roast lamb with Yorkshire pudding. The roast lamb was tender and juicy. The Yorkshire pudding was ok, not bad at all but also not the best i’ve had.
From the desserts station, i would really recommend the pistachio choux. This one was really nothing i expected. I actually think this is their champion and they should consider making it one of their signatures.
The red velvet cake was generously smothered with cream cheese, which i really appreciate. However, less sugar in the batter would be better. Also, perhaps try to experiment using roasted beetroot instead of coloring? Food coloring leaves an odd aftertaste that tingled my discomfort 😁.
I had a try of the kopyor ice cream. Not that it’s entirely bad, but i’d also recommend to put less sugar.
I think i tried too many bites to mention today.
Thank you, Collage. We will be back.
PS: service was also very good. On a scale of 1-10, i’d...
Read moreWhen one prices the weekend buffet dinner at or above those at the Shangri-la, the Raffles, etc, the food and service should at least come close.
I must say the service at least was good. Wait staff were attentive, polite and professional. Unfortunately, they were let down by the food on offer. The range was not wide. Yes, there were the usual sections: bread, salad, cold cuts, Japanese, Indian, Indonesian and dessert. This time around, there were a few German/Bavarian dishes for Oktoberfest.
Most of the meats were cold, hard and dry with congealed fat. Many stations were empty and not replenished regularly. And despite the different sections, the selection was humdrum. Even ice cream, which is hard to mess up, was a disappointment with chocolate running out (this was just before 9 pm) and the vanilla was really not up to scratch; obviously rather low quality.
I hardly post negative reviews but for Rp550000++ per person, I expected more. Much more. I had had good memories of the buffet when I last dined a few years ago. After the recent trip, I doubt there will be a...
