The first thing I noticed on the display case were the eye catching entremets. I’ve tried most of them, they are fun and delicious, though some days the contents weren’t set very well so they may be a puddle of syrup by the time you got them home. I usually go there with the intention of trying out their new offerings, but would invariably choose the ham and cheese croissant instead because I really like the way they add caramel onions and mustard in it. The croissants were really crisp and flaky when they first opened, nowadays though they’re looking more and more deflated, like they can no longer be bothered to prepare them properly anymore. Might have to move to a different cafe for my morning croissants if this continues.
Aerocano is just americano with foamy bubbles, and I love it.
They brought cakes around for taste-testing before they launched their made-to-order cakes, and I can say none of them were to my taste. They were too sweet and dense, the kind I’d associate with ibu” arisan’s taste.
Atmosphere: Minus 1 point for placing the smoking seats in front before the entrance such that if there were smokers there, everyone would be breathing in second hand smoke before entering the establishment.
Service: The servers/managers were always so intense in making sure that the guests are following the rules. More so in the beginning when they were really busy right after opening. Ordering is a bit of a mess because people take their time looking at the display and those behind them may not get served promptly. But most of all there’s just an underlying vibe of barely controlled anger all the time from the cashier, manager, whomever. Answers are curt and slightly impatient, which is not the norm in Indonesia. Maybe they have really stressed working environment? Who knows, either way,...
Read moreArriving at FLOR around 7:30 AM felt like stepping into a quietly rehearsed morning overture. Nestled in a serene corner of the city, this pâtisserie whispers elegance. The ambience is calm, the air crisp and comfortably tempered—ideal for a slow, intentional start to the day.
One of the venue’s most thoughtful touches is its open kitchen concept framed by glass walls—an architectural choice that invites curiosity without compromising the culinary sanctity. It feels like watching a live ballet of pastry-making: poised, warm, and subtly theatrical. A brilliant move that deepens the connection between diner and dish.
I ordered the Ham & Cheese, paired with a Pistachio Chocolate drink.
The Ham & Cheese pastry was an unexpected triumph. Buttery layers shattered delicately with each bite—a savory crescendo that began with crisp defiance and ended in a soft, umami finish. It was like discovering a familiar song had been remastered with unexpected depth.
The Pistachio Chocolate, however, played a less memorable tune. It arrived with muted presence—the chocolate faint, the pistachio indecisive, leaving a flavor that hovered like a memory that never quite formed. The texture hinted at potential but never committed. Sadly, it tasted more like an elevated instant mix than a crafted concoction.
Service, while not unfriendly, lacked the warmth and attentiveness that the space deserves. A smile, a gentle guide through the menu, or simply acknowledging curiosity could have enriched the experience significantly.
One notable absence: no power outlets. Whether intentional or overlooked, it silently signals that FLOR may be designed for transient indulgence rather than lingering...
Read moreI went here last Sunday, around 2-ish PM, dan ada waiting list 7 table. The place's not so spacious, ada indoor dan outdoor, and space for the waiting list. Even it's not so spacious, the place's aesthetic and homey.
Akhirnya we got table at 2.40 or so, but sadly jam segitu udah banyak menu yang habis, padahal penasaran banget sama Ube Croissant nya :').
I tried: Pain Au Chocolate (38k) - tipe croissant yang luarnya super crispy sampe top layernya bisa dilepas gitu lol. Layernya bagus, rasanya oke, sadly menurutku kurang buttery? Banana Jivara Croissant (45k) - banana ganache strong enough, but it's too sweet for my palate Yuzu Honey (59k) - okay but just okay. Still a bit too sweet for me, but the detail and its presentation are plus points. Avocado Chocolate (76k) - avocado mouse sama avocado smashed nya oke, well balanced with the chocolate sable. BUT this is the type of cake you can't eat whole by yourself (at least for me). Quarter to half is the enough amount. Again, too sweet for me. Iced Latte (35k) - kopinya super encer :( but what do I expect? not their specialty.
I had a high expectation when I came because the reviews and the hype, but sadly, nothing "wow"s me expect the entremet cantik cantik sekali. Tbh so many interesting menus that I wanna try tapi habis. I proly would come again to try...
