Gado-Gado Boplo — Restaurant in Jakarta

After a tiring shopping spree at Thamcit, Gado-Gado Boplo is a solid comfort food choice. Here’s what we ordered:

Gado-Gado Boplo – Big portion, classic taste. Tahu Telur – Nothing special, a bit too salty. Lontong Sayur – Different from the usual, creamier with a peppery kick and one part of chicken. Surprisingly, I prefer this over the traditional version. Nasi Rames – Just okay. Es Cendol Durian – Got two durians, so that’s a win, but the cendol was a tad too sweet.

One plus point: most dishes are still around 30k, which is pretty reasonable. The AC makes dining comfortable, though expect a wait since it's often packed.

Overall, it's decent—maybe not extraordinary, but definitely one of the better food...

So overall taste is good .. better quality than ordering fast food from food court inside the mall. Gado gado was delicious.. lumpia was okay (fried and too oily for my liking ). The satay was good .. there’s a signature dish in the picture forgot it’s name also was delicious to be fair. The mango and watermelon juice were too sweet for my liking as I prefer no sugar for kids . The waitresses was friendly and luckily speaks...

Since they open up branches all over the city and expand their menu, I have to give this restaurant one star lower. Nothing in the menu is as good as the gado-gado. And even its signature dish shows inconsistent quality over the years. Still, the gado-gado is commendable but if you like spicy food like me, prepared for disappointment since their sambal/chilli is not hot at all. Service is fast and it has outside table...
