MADE'S WARUNG (Plaza Senayan) — Restaurant in Jakarta

I recently visited Warung Made at Plaza Senayan with some friends for lunch, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. Let's dive into the details.

Firstly, the location of the restaurant is great, situated in Plaza Senayan. However, I found the indoor seating area to be quite smoky, which was a bit uncomfortable. On the other hand, the outdoor seating area was more pleasant, although it did get a bit sunny in the afternoon.

The staff at Warung Made were friendly and knowledgeable, providing good service throughout our visit. They were attentive and willing to answer any questions we had, which added to the overall positive experience.

Now, let's talk about the food. While I have previously enjoyed Warung Made in Bali and loved the consistent delicious taste across all their branches, I must say that the food at this particular location did not live up to my expectations. The flavors were not as good as the original Warung Made in Bali, and it felt like they were lacking the authentic taste I was hoping for.

One dish that stood out was the gado gado, which was delicious and flavorful. However, we ordered the bebek betutu, but unfortunately, it turned out to be very chewy. We had to return it and opted for the chicken instead, which was a better choice and tasted good.

On a positive note, Warung Made at Plaza Senayan offers fresh coconuts, which was a refreshing and delightful addition to the meal.

In conclusion, while Warung Made at Plaza Senayan has a convenient location and friendly staff, I was slightly disappointed with the overall food experience. The ambiance is so warm, not too bright and not to dark. The service is also good, I was served by Mas Tara, he asked me if I liked some kind of food or not. And he kept our table clean. During this pandemy, the tables is covered by big paper, so the waiters can easily clean the tables by remove the paper. They also provide hand sanitizer on every table. So that we can use it often. There are restrooms here, so we don't have to go to Plaza Senayan's restroom. And the foods are delicious!!! I ate grilled fish (kakap merah), sauteed green beans, pergedel jagung, and crispy fried duck. The sambals are soo woohh!! Very tasty! I ask Mas Tara, are the food halal here? And yes, they are halal. Except the drinks. They also provide beer or wine here, but I do not drink them. This was my first time to get lunch here, maybe there will be the second, the third, and many times I have to eat...

Staff were better than before, more polite and friendly now.

Food was good but can't compare to the OG in Bali as I have not tried it there yet.

Portion was ok, not too big nor small.

Premise is nice and quite big with indoor and outdoor seats. Part of the inside premise is smoking area.

They had a live band too but to me, should keep the music softer as the place was small so the loud music made it difficult to enjoy friends moments.

Remember guys, music does not need to be loud to be enjoyed, 70% of the volume would be good enough and in fact better.

Am usually there in the afternoons as it's opposite my office so will defo go again...
