Penang Bistro @Pacific Place Mall — Restaurant in Jakarta

Most of the dishes we ordered are flavourful, and delicious. The chicken curry was really good, rich in spices and has that coconut aroma. We ordered a portion of steamed man tau (Hong Kong styled steamed bun) to pair with the chicken curry. The grilled stuffed (with squid egg) large squid was equally good. It has the smoked taste, and perfectly cooked, soft and tender. Overcooked squid are tough and rubbery. The only qualms that we have is the Penang assam laksa - wished it has the similar taste and ingredients with the one in Penang, Malaysia. People are responsive...

It’s a pretty nice and delicious Malay/Penang restaurant. It’s pretty expensive but they seem to use good quality ingredients. The foods are pretty tasty, I really like the stir fried string beans, it has small fried shrimp that taste really good. The black pepper beef is not bad either.

The ambience is quiet nice as well, it’s the middle of the building above the water feature blow. It’s a bit noisy though .....

Went here with my colleagues after office hours. Initially we planned to go to other restaurant but since it was so crowded we chose Penang Bistro instead, and I totally did not regret we chose to do so. All the dishes we ordered were simply amazing from the taste, presentation, to the overall service. I think its a very nice restaurant to have a fam dinner. Would love to visit again with my mum and sis...
