A Hidden Gem for Premium Japanese BBQ Experience
Nestled in the upscale Pacific Place mall, Yakiniku-like stands out as a remarkable destination for Japanese BBQ enthusiasts who appreciate quality meat and a refined dining atmosphere. What truly sets this establishment apart is their exceptional commitment to both food quality and diner comfort.
Meat Quality: ★★★★★ The star of the show is undoubtedly their carefully curated selection of premium meats. Each cut is visibly marbled to perfection, promising and delivering an exceptional grilling experience. The wagyu selections are particularly noteworthy, featuring an impressive marbling that melts effortlessly during cooking, creating a rich, buttery flavor profile that lingers pleasantly on the palate. The meat is consistently fresh, properly aged, and expertly cut to optimal thickness for grilling.
Atmosphere & Design: ★★★★½ The restaurant's modern interior strikes an elegant balance between contemporary Japanese aesthetics and functional design. The spacing between tables is generous, offering intimate dining experiences without feeling cramped. The lighting is thoughtfully arranged – bright enough to appreciate the food's presentation while maintaining a cozy ambiance.
Ventilation System: ★★★★★ One of the most impressive aspects of Yakiniku-like is their state-of-the-art ventilation system. Unlike many other Korean or Japanese BBQ restaurants where you might leave with your clothes smelling of smoke, their advanced air circulation system effectively removes cooking smoke and odors. Each table is equipped with powerful yet quiet exhaust vents that efficiently whisk away smoke without disrupting conversation. This attention to ventilation technology ensures you can enjoy your grilling experience without worrying about carrying the restaurant's aromas with you afterward.
Service: ★★★★ The staff demonstrates excellent knowledge of the menu and cooking techniques. They're attentive without being intrusive, offering helpful suggestions for cooking times and combinations. Their expertise in recommending meat cuts based on diners' preferences adds value to the overall experience.
Value for Money: ★★★★ While positioned in the premium dining segment, the quality of ingredients and overall experience justifies the price point. The portion sizes are reasonable, and the quality of meat is consistently high across all price ranges.
Final Verdict: Yakiniku-like Pacific Place excels in delivering a premium Japanese BBQ experience that stands out for its superior meat quality and diner comfort. The combination of excellent ventilation, high-grade meat selections, and thoughtful atmosphere makes it an ideal choice for both special occasions and quality dining experiences. It's particularly recommended for those who have been hesitant about BBQ restaurants due to concerns about lingering food smells – this establishment has effectively solved that common complaint while maintaining focus on what matters most: exceptional food quality.

Read morethis restaurant is under the same group with kintan buffet. this makes the quality of the food similar to kintan buffet, but in a more affordable way since it's not an all-you-can-eat restaurant. they have different menus. the karubi and skirt set comes with a rice, miso soup, assorted kimchi, and beef slices. the beef is raw and you have to grill it by yourself. be careful, so you don't burn your meat.
the beef is tender and full of flavor. it's delicious. they have condiments on the table, including grated garlic, cut chilli, sambal, and various sauces. personally, i like the spicy miso sauce. for me, it's not spicy at all, but it has that savory flavor, with a hint of chili to compliment the grilled meat.
this branch is located inside the pacific place mall. they have high ceilings, and glass windows on the other side. it makes a good vibe to the restaurant. the employees are friendly, too. they will help you explain the menu, and the...
Read moreI came here last minute for my iftaar, have been helpless myself because I couldn't find a single available place in this crowded mall. But thankfully there was Yakiniku-like — a yakiniku place I believe is meant for an individual eater like I was.
The meat was so fresh, not at all greasy which was very great. They also had Wagyu for those of you who wanted to try premium beef. I tried their new menu which includes smoked duck slices. IT WAS THE BEST! Tasted a bit like beef tongue but a lot more juicy. Plus, they gave out free cup of hot tea & kurma for the iftaar! A very nice & touching gesture!
The staffs were also very welcoming and appointed me a very perfect spot — which is just by the wall. I like it that way better when I eat alone! 😂
