Roti Eneng — Restaurant in Jakarta

Below is my honest review about Roti Eneng, right before the "Pets are Allowed":

Found it first on Tokopedia, while searching for healthy homemade bread. Surprise that they delivered us a delicious white plain bread. And we also ordered their signature 1 Litre of Choco Sea Salt, which also tasted great.

Thus we decide to visit their outlet, not far from our home which actually on our cycling route every weekend.

A small outlet, a former house turned into this attractive (were it not busy and full of people, I might say this quite a cozy place). Food Ojek come and go, countless of them. To order their meals and beverages.

All tasted great, buy we mostly adore their breads menus which are their original signature and stepping-stone of creating the Roti Eneng outlet here. Not too soft but perfectly balanced texture to my liking. And the portion is also quite fit for a breakfast. But may not enough for a lunch or dinner (at least to my standard). As for the coffee, I've tasted better Ice Coffee.

Their crews also nice and polite, warmly received and listened very well to our compliments and complaints.

This will be one of our pit-stop on cycling or leisure time, were it not "Pets Allowed". Therefore two stars is maximum that I can give. Hopefully the owner of manager may sort this thing, as no restaurant allow pets inside.

I don't hate dogs or pets. But this is a dining place for public to attend. We deserve a clean and healthy place because we pay to be here.

No offense to dog owners nor the management regarding...

One of the most overrated eateries I've ever been to - they can't even get a simple coffee right! I ordered an Es kopi susu type drink, and the waiter literally forgot about my order (waiter was also fashioning a baseball hat indoors - "great" uniform guys!), and it wasn't like a busy heyday. When I confronted him about it, he seemed unfazed and didn't have any sense of responsibility. It's like as if they put the boss's son in charge of waiting tables.

Then, the waitress that cleaned our table did not respond to us saying thank you all night. I've seen statues with more expressions and enthusiasm than her. I understand nobody likes working on a Sunday, but come on, at least show some energy.

Now comes the food. They were so stingy with the food. I ordered a beef bacon toast, and the only part of the toast that had the bacon was a sliver on the front. The meat to bread ratio was criminally selfish.

If you love yourself, and your money: I do not recommend this place. For the price that you pay, you're getting Kampung grade service, and owners who are clearly just...

Untuk pertama kalinya, saya mengunjungi tempat ini di pagi hari selepas lari pagi di sekitaran Gandaria. Lokasinya berada di wilayah perumahan, tepat menghadap Taman Gandaria Tengah sehingga suasananya tenang dan asri. Tempatnya bersih, rapi, dan cukup luas untuk dine in. Terbagi area indoor dan outdoor yang juga dapat digunakan untuk smoking area. Pada area indoor terdapat setidaknya 5 meja dengan kapasitas sekitar 20-an kursi, juga terdapat etalase roti dan makanan/minuman lainnya untuk take away. Area outdoor-nya juga nyaman dan rindang karena ditutupi dengan pohon besar sebagai shading plant sehingga sinar matahari tidak langsung masuk. Konsepnya sederhana seperti mengunjungi rumah kerabat. Di outltet, pengunjung juga dapat mendonasikan paper bag yang tidak terpakai untuk di daur ulang kembali. Menu makanan dan minumannya cukup beragam, tidak hanya roti saja. Di sini pun menyediakan varian menu vegan, baik makanan maupun minuman. Hanya saja pada kunjungan saya kali ini, menu Vegan Toast Bread Peanut Butter Jelly yang ingin saya pesan sedang tidak tersedia karena keterbatasan topping-nya. Oleh karena itu saya mencoba Sweet Toast Bread Mocha Nougat dan Cappuccino Neng! sebagai pendamping. Sweet Toast Bread Mocha Nougat yang saya pesan rasanya enak. Topping mocha dan nougatnya terasa seimbang, tidak terlalu manis dan merata ke seluruh bagian roti. Tidak heran mereka memang memiliki spesialisasi di bidang bakery, roti panggangnya menjadi pemeran utama, teksturnya sangat paslembut dan airy, burning taste-nya pun merata pas, tidak ada bagian yang terlalu gosong. Ini yang akan membuat saya akan kembali lagi untuk mencicipi varian lainnya. Untuk menu Cappuccino Neng! yang saya pesan memiliki deskripsi “espresso + 3kinds of milk”, sayangnya salah satu varian susu yang dimaksud ternyata adalah susu kental manis, yang mana bukanlah golongan susu, melainkan pemanis buatan. Secara rasa, menu kopi ini menjadi terlalu manis karena didominasi oleh rasa kental manisnya itu sendiri sehingga menu minuman ini rasanya kurang pas menjadi pendamping untuk varian Sweet Toast Bread lainnya. Total pesanan saya pagi ini sekitaran Rp80.000,-, nominal standar untuk harga sekelas café, namun cukup terbilang mahal jika dibandingkan dengan menu sarapan sederhana di sekitaran lokasinya untuk satu porsi roti dan kopi susu. Pada kunjungan saya ini, traffic-nya tidak terlalu ramai. Kebanyakan pengunjung yang datang pun hanya membeli roti dari etalase untuk di bawa pulang. Pelayanan stafnya sangat ramah dan cekatan, dari mulai masuk hingga selesai. Lain kali saya akan kembali untuk mencoba varian...
