Went to the Sabang location for lunch. The restaurant was pretty warm and they had some fans on. None of the A/C seemed to be working. You have to scan the QR code and order with your phone. No physical menus provided. They were “sold out” of many items even though we came in early before the lunch rush and there were only 4 people seated before us. That was disappointing. So, we ended up ordering the holysteak and the holycow sirloin steak with some drinks. Both steaks came medium rare even though we ordered medium and medium well steaks. Please see pictures. Portions of the meat were on the smaller side. The sirloin was very thin. The french fries were good though, just small portions. The black pepper sauce was ok, but the holycow sauce had an overwhelming mayo taste to it; not the best for steak in my opinion. I ordered it as I did not know what it was and wanted to give the house sauce a try because they are usually the special sauce specific for that restaurant. Overall, a bit pricey for what you get. The servers were nice, but with minimal interaction since you did all the ordering yourself on your own phone. Almost self-service at this point, just more expensive. Overall, it was ok to try once, but there are better options at this price point. Some others may like it...
Read moreUsed to eat at their old place across the street in the past, but this is my first visit after almost 5 years. And … everything has moved to the BETTER! The ambience is now so cozy, with the earthy colour. The food remains fantastic. And the service … I’ll give it 6 stars if only it is available.
It started with me missing to click the ‘green bean’ on the side dish. The waiter politely offered to serve some as an add-ons. But the manager on duty, Pak Singgih, told him to just serve it! It’s not their fault, yet they are so accommodating. A plus point for me.
Thank you, Holycow, especially Pak Singgih!
If there is anything to refine, it’s probably the plate. I find it difficult to cut the steak in their hot pan-shaped plate. Better to serve it in...
Read moreOne of the few steakhouse brands that’s been around for years, and they’ve stayed consistent all this time. I’ve eaten here a few times already, and it’s always been reliable, the kind of place you go to when you just want a good, no-fuss steak. Plenty of cut options depending on your mood, from tenderloin to ribeye, and they’re cooked right to order, with your choice of sides and veggies. The meat quality is solid, juicy, and flavorful without being overly seasoned. It’s a comfortable, casual spot with midrange prices that make it easy to come back often. This particular branch has a cozy, quaint vibe and located strategically in Central Jakarta. Service is always friendly and efficient too. Definitely one of my go-tos for a...
