Our family (8 pax) came here for iftar last Sunday. We chose this place because some of us have dietary restrictions, like my diabetic aunt and my grandmother. Reservation was via Chope.
Service: We came around 16:50 WIB. It wasn't crowded; only 1-3 tables beside us the whole time. It's dinner menu-only after 16:00, which is far more limited than the breakfast menu (by then was the only menu I could find on the website). When asked, the server told us the steak was 300g. We asked to double check and it was confirmed to be 150g. Service was slow; by magrib, half the food was not on the table yet. One of the waiters did walk me all the way to the mushola, which was very kind of him! (The mushola is outside the restaurant.)
I tried every dish we ordered. – Mexican beef wrap: The acidity of the pickled cabbage was so overwhelming, I couldn't eat more than two bites. Beef was dry. – Chicken caesar salad: The grilled whole lettuce was... a choice. The chicken was dry and tough. It came with poached eggs that were unseasoned. – Beef broth w/ beef: We ordered this, per the server's recommendation, because our grandmother couldn't chew hard foods and the porridge wasn't on the dinner menu. We were assured the beef would be tender, but it came out tough so she couldn't eat it. The bean sprouts were old and wilted. Broth was a bit flat, but ok. – Chicken pita: My fave. The cilantro brightened the baba ganoush and chicken, but the harissa is what brought it all together. Tzatziki was thin and watery. It had this big ol' roasted chili that I ended up biting like cabe rawit because it was sticking out awkwardly. – Poached snapper: The vinaigrette was too strong while the fish was kinda bland. The fish was too mushy for me, but it was fine for my mom. – Tenderloin: We ordered medium rare which were cooked nicely, but tasted meh. It was Rp. 155k for 150g. The roma sauce was sour, sorta like a bad cheese dip, and clashed with the rest of the dish. An odd inclusion. The asparagus was floppy and soggy (as it seemed boiled) but edible if I wipe off the sauce. Tomatoes and mushrooms were very nice.
Drinks: – Ginger honey tea: The ginger was overpowering, but it was nice and warm. – Guilt-free snickers smoothies: Tasted good, not too sweet, but kinda watered down.
Dessert: – Non-dairy blueberry cheesecake: The texture was unlike dairy cheesecake, but it tasted quite similar. I enjoyed the gingerbread and oat topping, but why were there raisins in the sauce? – French vanilla sugar-free ice cream: It didn't melt and scoop like regular ice cream. Instead, if you "scrape" it, it curls like an ice cream roll... Tasted like regular ice cream at first, then melts into this slightly gritty mouthfeel, I think from the cornstarch. It has stevia so sometimes has that weird aftertaste. It does contain egg yolks, so is pretty high in cholesterol.
Overall, we spent over Rp 1,8 million for 8 people. Compared to other restaurants in the area, we felt like the dinner was disappointing. Neither the taste nor service could justify the price. I do like to eat clean and healthy, but as there are cheaper alternatives with better taste, I can't really...
Read moreUpon entering Terra Eats, I was immediately captivated by the presence of Nyoman Nuarta's "Rush Hour" sculpture. Having recently visited the Nuarta Sculpture Garden in Bandung, encountering a piece by him right in the heart of Senopati felt incredibly serendipitous. The artwork instantly transported me back to the earthy, green ambiance of the garden, setting a perfect, grounded tone and reassuring me that I was in the ideal spot for a relaxing brunch.
Beyond the striking sculpture, the restaurant's ethos became even clearer with the prominent "Eat Wisely" quote adorning a wall – a sentiment I strongly resonate with, believing firmly that you truly are what you eat. This philosophy was further reinforced by the array of clean, green, vegan, high-protein food options visibly stocked on the shelves, which immediately conveyed Terra Eats' commitment to wholesome dining.
For my meal, I opted for the Cauliflower Hummus, and it certainly lived up to its promise from the moment it arrived. It looked incredibly sumptuous, and the first bite confirmed its appeal: it was wonderfully creamy and had a rich, earthy flavor that was deeply satisfying. The dish, like the menu's overall ethos, truly delivered on its promise of clean, green, and wholesome goodness.
Based on this delightful experience, I will surely return to Terra Eats and wholeheartedly recommend it, especially to fellow vegetarian diners looking for nourishing and flavorful options. My friends also enjoyed their meals overall ambience of Terra Eats.
The only real challenge, as with many popular spots in the bustling Senopati area, is finding parking, which can be...
Read moreOne of the best healthy food option in Jakarta. Fresh ingredients, delicious recipes and reasonably priced. I want this business to thrive and thus I am giving 3 stars for service and atmosphere as constructive criticism.
Service time should be reduced: they always take very long to serve my order… the place is never crowded but my order always takes 15 minutes or longer to serve (for comparison: Saladstop will complete order in about 10 minutes during full house and 3-5 minutes when not crowded). We also ordered coffee after our meal and they took almost 10 minutes to serve one cup of coffee (there were only 1-2 customers left when we ordered the coffee… Starbucks or Common Grounds take 1-2 minute to serve their coffee). Staff require more training so they can prepare, serve food faster and increase revenue!
Atmosphere can be improved: Interior is well done BUT when we visited, there were flies hovering around the cooked food counter. We informed 2 staff hoping they will get an electronic racket or fly catcher BUT they did just smiled and did nothing about it. A caucasian customer later told the staff about the flies and the staff finally took out a metal sign holder to shoo the flies away unsuccessfully (look at photo attached to this review). Please plan an SOP on how to catch flies or prevent them from coming in. Terra at Jl. Suryo is facing main road and flies from outside can enter and zoom towards the cooked food counter easily! This could potentially be a health hazard.
I will still go back to Terra because the food is great! I hope Terra will improve its service speed and cleanliness SOP so the biz can...
