Such a messy service. My family and I arrived at 11:25, our order was processed at 11:40, and my food only arrived at 12:22 😂

When we finished ordering, the staff informed us that the food would take 15-20 minutes to prepare. However, what actually happened was that they were far from delivering what they claimed:

After 5 minutes taking orders, staff asked about my husband's order again. After waiting over 10 minutes, staff informed me that my spicy beef nabe was unavailable and I needed to change the dish. I switched to the original beef nabe, ensured it was in stock, and that it wouldn’t take long to prepare (since it’s just vegetables, udon, beef slices). My husband ordered one chicken katsu curry, and I ordered a second. I double-checked with staff that my order was noted, and they said yes. 4. After 20 minutes, only one curry arrived. After another 10 minutes, I asked about the second, only to learn they recorded only one. We had to wait around 15 more minutes for the second. My original beef nabe finally arrived at 12:22 after I became upset and spoke to the manager.

FYI, I was the first customer, and by 12:22, three other tables arrived much later and had most of their food. The restaurant has plenty of staff for such a small place, but they clearly need refresher training.

I appreciate the manager trying his best to make it up to us. I hope they improve their service soon because the food is good, but it's hard to enjoy when customers are already experiencing stomach acid...

The new hype in town. My 2nd visit (1st visit ended up with us eating next door — the queue was cray).

The place: beautiful and unique interior, it’s a two story restaurant with white paper (origami like) decoration hanging on the ceiling. The sake barrels, false indoor tree, and wooden interior give a strong Japan-like feels. but the waiting area tho.. probably the owner didn’t expect that their place would be such a hype, it couldn’t accommodate a lot of people. I came here twice on lunch time and spent 30min standing in a small crowded entrance (at least) before we were seated.

The food (I had): Since I’m not a big fan of aburi and fushion maki, I just ordered the very basic items which unfortunately weren’t served on the stair-like-plate lol: salmon sashimi — okay cut, okay freshness. salmon belly sashimi — uneven cut (one was cut very small, yeah I’m that petty lol), okay freshness. salmon chirasi — pretty much like the sashimi but with rice and two slice of tamago.. it was okay. ika tempura — smell a lil bit fishy, not that fresh I guess. Okay servings (came with two yasai tempura). inari with kani salad — couldn’t taste the kani salad, inari was too sweet.

TL;DR Place 4/5 if you get a seat 2/5 for the waiting area Food 3/5 probably should try their fushion maki Service 2.5/5 many staff but I had to ask at least two times before they get it (eg: lemon cause they forgot to give one for the sashimi at the...

Food is not bad at all, but what is good food when service is this terrible.

First and foremost, our ordering process was not the smoothest. The staff came back to us multiple times to inform us that what we ordered were either no longer available (but somehow still on the easily-editable digital menu), or out of stock. Perhaps this was a sign of things to come.

We (2 pax) were the only ones here but our food took a long time to arrive. Our Salmon Belly Chirashi (which has absolutely no cooked elements) took 20 minutes for some reason. As we like to joke, perhaps they were out catching the fish first 😅. Worse still was the Aburi Engawa Onsen Egg Bomb, at the time of writing, 25 minutes and still waiting for it to come out.

Not as bad were the Salmon Belly Miso Soup and two Kani Chawanmushis (which had to be sent back as it was borderline cold) which took about 10-15 minutes to arrive (again, we were the only guests there). Perhaps they were tending to delivery orders, but I personally think this is still unacceptable.

Floor staff were very polite, aside from the occasional gossiping and laughter. Kitchen staff less so, with lots of glum/unfriendly/unhappy faces. Also can hear pretty loud chatter coming from the inner kitchen.

All in all, this particular outlet is definitely not one I would recommend to visit in person now. Feels more like a delivery order factory. Seems the standard here has dropped,...

The location is super strategic in Senopati, it's hard to miss. The ambiance is so good with great lighting. I made an effort to come extra early to avoid the crowd as recommended by fellow visitors. Came at 10.50, enter at 11, and received the first order by around 11.25. The food that I ordered in the order of favoritism - truffle gyudon: 8/10 the truffle and creamy egg succeeded in stimulating my appetite. The beef was asked to be med-rare, but ended up a lot less tender than I expected tho - beef charcoal: 7/10 thin cuts of beef on low heat charcoal. You can pick to cook yourself or have it already cooked when delivered to the table. Also could have been given cuts with less muscle - salmon and tuna sashimi: 7/10 the salmon is fantastic like butter in your mouth, the tuna was a bit fishy. I guess I'm used tuna which do not have any smell elsewhere. - zaru soba: 7/10 Tasty as always - hiro sushi deluxe: 6/10 it tasted okay and not too special and I prefer the aburi series - had free fried salmon head atama since the order is more than 300K. It was good! I came in prepared with orders already written, but a third of what I intended to order either no longer available on their current menu, under preparation, or sold out. So be sure to check their current menu as the ones currently circulating the internet is less accurate than the actual.

This place has been one of the destination place to eat for the sushi lover. The sushi was definitely made from a premium quality ingredient. The food was processed with a chef from Japan. The atmosphere is refreshingly relaxed and friendly and the staff really helped us. The food is usually the talking point here and, while it’s amazing, we felt that the staff really added to the entire experience and made it extra special. The incredibly energetic hostess floats effortlessly back and forth, ensuring everyone is taken care off at the front of house while constantly monitoring the snaking queue outside with military precision. The service during my visit was adequately friendly. However, my overall impression of the restaurant was that nothing truly stood out. Although there were no absolute blunders, my dinner lacked a dish enticing enough for me to come back for more. If I were looking for budget sushi, there are also cheaper options in the area.
