If you’re in Amed and haven’t been to Dodo Warung yet, you’re seriously missing out. This place was hands down the best food we had in Amed, and I still can’t stop thinking about it!
What makes Dodo Warung so special are the incredible owners - husband Putu and wife Ilu. Ilu is the chef and she is like a hidden gem herself, cooking up dishes that could easily belong in an episode of Street Food Asia on Netflix. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite. Ilu takes simple ingredients and transforms them into something extraordinary. Their English is so good, talk to them their stories are as good as their food.
We ordered the Tuna Rendang and it was out of this world – rich, tender, and so packed with flavor that I savored every bite. The Mahi Mahi with Garlic was just as amazing: fresh, perfectly cooked. But what truly wowed me was the side dish – cooked Moringa. I’ve never had Moringa like this before, and it added such a healthy touch to the meal. It’s these little surprises that make Dodo Warung stand out.
The vibe here is super laid-back and welcoming, and it feels like you’re eating at someone’s home – which, in a way, you are. Ilu is there, cooking with passion, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her food and her customers. It’s a small, cozy spot, but the flavors are huge. Also her husband Putu that sometimes takes out his guitar and sings and plays.
If you’re in Amed, you need to experience this place. Dodo Warung is the real deal – a true taste of Bali, with food that will make you want to come back again and...
Read moreThe best, most relaxing, chill restaurant you want to hang out in Amed! This place is nothing fancy, but it definitely made the perfect evening for us. We had lunch, and the food was simple but delicious and on point, so we had dinner again on the same day. In the evening, the owner and his band perform live music, and you just want to sing your lungs out with them. Great food, awesome, sweet people you just want to support! Highly recommend this place, whereas a tourist this is the kind of place you want to enjoy and support the small local...
Read moreI've been eating at places all around Amed this week and this is by far the best food I've had. I had the grilled fish(fresh barracuda or fresh tuna!) and fries, it came with a great salad that had dressing on it unlike a lot of the restaurants around. There was a non-spicy or spicy option for the fish which is great, I went the non spicy and it was excellent. The portion size was just right and actually filled me up! Overall this place is a little bit out of the way but worth the stop/drive if you are in the Amed...
