GENJI Teppanyaki & Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

We weren’t sure as yet if we should give Genji a try as it had few reviews having just opened in August on the resort grounds, but we thought why not and we’re so so glad we did.

The atmosphere is calm and serene with a feeling of being transported to Japan. You can choose from the set menu, hibachi style, or the a la carte with foods like udon, teriyaki, sushi and sashimi and the like. We opted for one set menu and one teriyaki sirloin and it was absolutely mouth-watering. The set menu comes with plenty of food! An appetizer, tempura, salad, miso soup, fried rice, sirloin, vegetables, pickled vegetables and ice cream dessert. All were great and it was fun watching the chef prepare the meal at the table.

The staff were so kind and attentive. We never lacked for anything the entire time we were there including cheerful banter and more than a few smiles. We would definitely come back again especially to try the tempura...

My fiancè and I went on a date night here while we were staying at Ayodya Resort as it looked amazing when we walked past watching the tepanyaki chefs cook. The service was really welcoming and made us feel at home. The chef was nice and an amazing cook. We wish he cooked a little slower as we felt a little rushed to eat all our courses fast before they stacked up. However each dish was carefully curated and put together and came out looking like a piece of art. The flavour was amazing! The only thing I would say is the pricing for the sake was very misleading, they have written the price on the menu as 95,00rp but we ended up actually paying 950,000rp! eek! Thank god the sake kicked in and we laughed it off as we walked back to our hotel room with happy full belly's. 🙏😁

Had a great dinner and time here! A place filled with warmth and kindness. We went two nights in a row and on both occasions the standard was maintained at a high level. The chef that prepared our meal was sociable and knowledgeable about his craft and showcased his brilliant culinary skills. The manager Suciati surprised us when she remembered our names the second time round.
