Terrible.
We stayed at the Mulia and went for the buffet but had 3mil IDR (included in our package across 3 rooms) to spend. We were told we could use it at Table8, and we'd be able to have a la carte and buffet simultaneously.
Sitting down, we were informed otherwise and told we could choose either a la carte or buffet. I informed the waitress this wasn't my understanding. She checked and told me I could indeed use it my credit for a la carte and buffet.
Buffet Food was good, particularly the roasts and dim sums. So was the service. I should have just kept with buffet and spent my credit elsewhere.
A la carte Ordered mantis prawn - they don't have them. Ordered roasted pigeon - they don't have them. Ordered 2 birds nest - 4 came to our table. Wanted to return 2 but after all the back and forth, we decided to just have them and absorb the cost. Ordered siumai - never came. Ordered stuffed crab - Charged and had to have them take it off the bill cause it never came. They took a while to check with the chef to confirm it did never arrive at our table. Ordered fried rice - Incorrectly given noodles when I ordered rice. Whatever, we have waited forever so we'll take them. It did taste good though. Incorrectly charged for a dessert as well - the waiter spoke to a colleague who got annoyed at him and he told her to "sabarlah". Told me they couldn't take it off the bill since I'd already eaten the guilin pudding. I asked how since it'd never been served to the table - they checked and confirmed this was the case. Food came at akward times - dessert before main meals. Food took a very long time to come. Everything was messy and uncoordinated.
They had to print the bill several times the people behind us were getting annoyed as "We want to go home". One complained ahout the bad service he had throughout the night.
Grateful however, that Mulia reception updated the final bill eventually.
After amazing service all round at Soleil, the cafe, lounge, living room, deli and cannele- I'm amazed with how big a gap the service level is. For buffet, it may be ok but it was a huge let down and I wished I didn't bother wasting...
Read moreWe had a lovely dining experience at Table8 at Mulia Bali, largely thanks to the excellent staff who were incredibly attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant offers a few different dining options: a dim sum only menu, a buffet-only option, and a comprehensive all-inclusive package. My family chose the all-inclusive, and a great bonus was that one of our kids, who are under 12, got to eat for free. As a vegetarian, I found that the buffet had very limited options for me, so I opted to order a la carte instead. The food I ordered was great—I especially loved the crispy tofu and the stir-fried vegetables. However, I would suggest that the restaurant consider creating a specific pricing or menu option for vegetarians on the buffet, as it would be beneficial for diners like me. My family, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed the main buffet and had plenty of choices. Their favourites were the xiao long baos, the claypot chicken, and the chicken rice. Overall, the food was great and the staff were wonderful. It was a very enjoyable experience, and we would recommend it to others visiting the area. Definitely worth making a reservation ahead...
Read moreJust go here. I read the google reviews here before deciding to eat at table8, and saw how one guy said this was the best Chinese food he’s ever had and just rolled my eyes — but he was right. SO RIGHT. This place does ALL the flavors spot on, amazing preparation, taste and quality. You can choose between buffet and a la carte, just do the buffet so you can try a little of everything.
Not to miss: —-Black pepper prawn clay pot with vermicelli (the flavor in this is unreal, with the way the sauce caramelizes on the side of the clay pot) —-Soup with rice noodles (the broth - absolutely amazing with a rich complex flavor, I had a discussion with the chef about it after because I want to try to imitate it at home, it’s that good 😆) —-white (creamy bean? Filling?) bun that was just divine, perfectly soft and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness
Service is also amazing here, super attentive and everyone is the nicest. We were not even staying at the mulia but felt it was 100% worth coming over here to dine at this restaurant. American Chinese food is now ruined for me but it’s worth it to experience the deliciousness of this...
