Excellent spot in Legian with the outdoor restaurant/breakfast area overlooking Bali sunsets and the beach from the back of the hotel and gated security providing access to the interesting back streets of Legian from the very busy front of the hotel. Decent size rooms with older key card/tab functions set in larger 3 storey blocks of accomodation dotted around two very large pools shaded by large established Frangipanis and large leafed trees. Plenty of sun beds pleasantly enjoy both sunny and shady positions around their full service pool bars.
In typical 3 star hotel fashion however, time has come for major renovations on the half century old accommodation. The showers are terrible on the top floor rooms with at least 5 minutes needed for hot water to come thru the pathetic gravity fed system, the door locks are falling off, our rooms had serious window rattle and water ingress from balcony sliding doors, musty room smells with old style very basic tea/coffee/bar provisions and a very 80’s feel walking the winding flagstoned pathways. Breakfast is OK but you’ll be looking for options after a few days of the same old same old. That is 3 star hotels though.
The positives - typical Balinese over friendly hotel staff, free in room Netflix, nightly entertainment with Karoake style bands and reasonably priced Bintangs with sunset views. Early check-in, late check-out. Value for money.
The management and medical staff are easily accessible if any guest concerns are raised around health and safety matters but business as usual and profits are disappointing placed before common sense and simple problem solving with current senior personnel.
It’s the kind of….been here once, wouldn’t come back though….type of...

Read moreBudget hotel. Loved the restaurant food was delicious and cheap. Breakfast had fresh cooked pastries and with really great ambience and service. Rooms are old Balinese style but also very outdated the furniture has a motel 80s feel in the Apartment buildings very dark even with lightning on. Swim up bar in pool was unattended everytime we went for a swim. If using external services as we did that the hotel can provide such as masseuse, hair & makeup they will be stopped at security and you will be forced to go see the manager. This was very heavy handed when I had explained that we had a Sunday Brunch and was wanting to get our hair and make-up done early and the in-house spa was unable to accommodate us therefore we sourced an external company this was still not acceptable. The confusions on the team who had arrived was also surprise as this doesn't happen often even at five star hotels but to talk to me that way and not believe me was what really shocked them as they spoke in Balinese to explain it to the manager again. Anyway in the end the manager called his spa technician to come to the hotel and was wanting to send the team away. Luckily the lady said that they were fully booked and she could not attend to my family. That experience turned me off the property. Also the fact that for the price you could stay at a lot of newer hotels in the area even with the claim of old school charm and the nice trees I would have gone to a...
