The restaurant is full of unfortunate men who are so ignorant and unresponsible that they could demean the Indonesian people.
I was scratched in multiple places on my leg by a little black puppy that was hanging around the beach seats in front of the restaurant. There was no noticeable bleeding, but I had multiple wounds that bled partially.(WHO standards recommend an immediate rabies vaccination.)
I know the basic premise is that my carelessness was the cause, but just in case there was concern about rabies in the worst case scenario, I visited the store after it closed at around 10:30 p.m. on June 21 to get the owner's contact information, just to find out how the puppy was doing after that. I asked a staff member who was cleaning up, and was introduced to three men who were chatting in a shack next to the store.
They were the worst. "This dog is a government dog," they said. The dog is a government dog, so it has no owner, and it hasn't been vaccinated against rabies. If he just scratched you, there's no problem.Just stay away from him." They gave me their contact information, but I was suspicious (I called them on the spot and got a false number, and a photo of a mysterious man who wasn't there). When I questioned him about it, he told me that I would be returning to Bali tomorrow, so come back tomorrow when another staff member will be there.
One man said something mindless and the other two young men giggled and laughed.I don't understand Indonesian, but they should at least know that I can tell that they think I'm an idiot.
It would all be cleared up if I said it was a cultural difference, but their foolishness has nothing to do with culture at all. The staff at the convenience store I entered because I needed to buy some disinfectant told me that even a scratch is dangerous, and they kindly gave me some gauze free of charge, as if they were worried about me. This is not a cultural issue, but a particular fool's problem.

Read moreThere is nothing like ordering your breakfast and go for a swim while it gets ready, Tigerlillys offers you that. I used to come here for breakfast almost on a daily basis during my YTT and I didn’t get tired of their smoothies bowls and the dishes I composed myself with their sides. You definitely pay for the view but it’s worth it! Most of the times I ordered double portions to make sure I got satisfied. The staff is super friendly and by the end of the month they all knew my name, they really know how to pamper you and make you feel like home! The brunch menu might require a bit of variety and the service could be faster but it’s fine, it is definitely a place it’s worth stopping by for breakfast or to enjoy the sunsets! They have so much going on bbq nights, live music, movie nights…it is definitely a place to go for food and chill by the beach when...
