Came here with almost no expectations because our brunch place was packed, and we didn't want to wait forever.
First impression was good, we liked the view, lovely lovely green paddy fields. Food taste, need major improvement. Service wise, ok acceptable as you were understaffed. Price wise was decent, it's not expensive and not cheap, fair price for me. To other reviewer, Please don't compare the price with the dumplings you had back in China or Taiwan, that's not fair and will just make you sound ridiculous.
Conclusion. The pros : Gorgeous paddy fields view. Extensive menu of dumplings. Also the drinks menu, thank you alcohol, thank you healthy drinks, and thank you tea. Food appearance and presentation : great. There's a few promotion going on and they look fantastic. Clean and cozy seatings. WiFi works very well. Hand wash station is clean, I didn't check the toilet though. 2 parking spots for car, yay and many spaces for bikes. Affordable price range.
The cons : Open air restaurant so please come early or late, because 11 am was scorching hot.
All the staffs were friendly and quite attentive. But service needs improvement, I waited for them to change my plate but I understand you guys were understaffed but you charge 5 percent for service charge so I expected more.
Taste : please please improve. Xiao long bao skin was a major fail, it's thick and leaking. Hint : XLB skin is made using several mixture of flours. Try making your own aspic and not using ready made gelatin. Also please provide ginger so we can have it with black vinegar. We ordered other dumplings and same problem existed, and one set was even over steamed. As for the mala, mala uses Sichuan peppercorns hence that where it gets the name and signature, but your mala stir fry had no sichuan peppercorns at all, so disappointing and so sad because I think this place still has so many potential.
Hope on my next visit the taste and service hv...
Read moreWho doesn’t love dumplings? I first discovered this place through a recommendation from a friend, who also happens to be a chef—so I knew it would be legit. Since then, it’s become the go-to spot whenever the dumpling cravings hit.
The price totally matches the quality, service, and overall experience. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, and honestly? Never been disappointed. Plus, the portions are generous, so you better prepare your belly guys!
The setting is beautiful, overlooking scenic rice terraces with fresh air all around. There’s no AC, but they’ve got plenty of fans, so even when it’s busy, it still feels comfortable.
They’ve got big tables for groups, regular tables for smaller parties or couples, beanbags if you feel like chilling with some dumplings and a glass of wine or a cocktail, and a few sofas too (though limited).
Food recommendations:
🍲 Hot Pot: We usually go for the Szechuan Mala Soup, it’s always on point. Don’t skip the wontons!
🥟 Dumplings: You can’t go wrong with any of them, but my faves are: • Chicken Pepper Shio Mai • Crab & Prawn Xiao Long Bao • Lobster & Prawn Crystal • Truffle Pork Rice Dumpling • Char Siu Pork Bao Bun
🍜 Noodles: I’ve only ordered “Pork & Wonton Ramen Soup” but it hits the spot every time. Please keep this on the menu forever!!
🍛 Wok Dishes: The Mapo Tofu is amazing, definitely worth a try.
——— One small tip: The wine list on the menu doesn’t always match what’s available, so it’s best to ask the waiter directly for the...
Read moreFirst of all, this is not an authentic dumpling place per se, but more to a fusion one. But working your chopsticks skill for dumplings in front of a paddy fields surely an experience of its own.
I tried the Pork wonton ramen with flat noodle (90k), a set of pick and mix 5 dumplings (54k) and ice Oolong milk tea (45k).
🍜 The Pork wonton ramen came in big big bowl with generous portion. The flat noodles was in various shapes, I found a very wide one and a regular one. I thought they would come in a rather uniform shape, haha.. The pork meat was a lot, tender and flavourful. Wonton and the pok choy were okay. However, I didn't relate to the nasi-uduk-styled-srambled-eggs there.
🥟 My pick for 5 dumplings were: Seafood wonton, Wagyu beef & onion dumpling, Pork & pok choy dumpling, Vegan kimchi dumpling, and Pork & truffle dumpling. The one that stood out the most surprisingly Wagyu beef & onion dumpling! There was juices coming when I took the first bite, what a delicacy! I would come back for this one. Dumpling skin was firm enough and the fillings were well balanced.
:bubble_tea: I was having an expectation on having the regular milk tea with sugar like what other boba places are offering. But, their ice Oolong milk tea was not sweet and came with popping bobba (lychee! for what I recalled) in a unique glass.
On additional notes, Because I might lean towards people with smaller hands, I found the wooden chopsticks a bit too...
