XBR Canggu — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

I don’t usually write reviews like this, but people need to know. Me and four mates all came dressed sharp, had one beer before arriving, then ordered a drink at this bar. Within minutes, all five of us felt like we’d been drugged. Our pupils were huge, we were spinning, euphoric but out of control — and we’re all guys who know our limits and had been drinking all week without any issues. Two drinks do not do that.

It was scary. None of us felt safe and the whole night we kept questioning how two drinks could leave us feeling like we’d had 20+ shots or something stronger. We’ve all done enough in life to recognize when something has been slipped into our system.

As men, we’re not naive. We don’t lose control easily, and this wasn’t just “strong drinks.” This was deliberate. And for what? To get our money?

If you think it’s okay to put something in someone’s drink without consent, you are seriously messed up. It’s disgusting, dangerous, and ruins trust for everyone.

That’s it for me with Canggu nightlife. I’ve been nothing but respectful the whole time here, but after this, I can’t trust it anymore. If you value your safety, think twice...

My friend was full on punched in this bar last night by a guy after she refused to go back to his room. When I went to confront the guy who punched her (claims he is an influencer with 100k), he started pushing and shoving me. His friend came over then and joined in pushing us. Me, my friend and others calling for security but they knew someone who worked there he was taken behind the bar and we were forced to leave. A great venue with a serious professional live music stage. They help promote local bands and raise money for local charities. There is also a bakso stand inside. Beer prices are resonable (we got a free beer with our entry fee for an album launch.) Great staff. Awesome sound and easiest free parking in Canggu. A great place to watch a gig.
