Griya Dhahar RB: A Trip Down Memory Lane.

My husband, my sister, our niece, and I recently visited Griya Dhahar RB, located in the same complex as Radio Retjo Buntung. We were impressed by their menu - a treasure trove of traditional Javanese dishes, some we hadn't seen in a long time. It brought back a wave of nostalgia!

Unfortunately, while the concept was fantastic, the taste itself was just average. We tried the Sangga Buana, Cokgemek, Brongkos, Sop Buntut, Mie Jawa, Mendoan, and Es Cincau. Everything was decent, but none of the dishes left a lasting impression on our taste buds.

On the bright side, the service was excellent! The staff were friendly, helpful, and our orders arrived quickly.

Overall, Griya Dhahar RB is a good option if you're looking for a taste of Javanese tradition. The atmosphere and menu selection are great conversation starters, but be prepared for a more average dining experience in terms of flavor.

Quiet place in a traditional (probably also historical) house-turned-to-restaurant, located in a small but busy road, right next to the Retjo Buntung radio station. Can be booked for private events like dining, engagement, or maybe intimate wedding—so if you plan on coming on weekends, maybe contact them first to make sure that the place is available. For casual dining, booking is usually not necessary except if they’re unavailable due to events. Serving time is quite quick and you really don’t have to wait for too long. Some dishes are a bit salty but to each their own, I guess? Drinks are decent. Indoor area is properly air-conditioned. Smokers can peruse the outdoor seatings at the verandah.
