First of all I want to extend my gratitude to who anonymously paid for our meal, my family and I are very grateful for your kindness and I pray you get it back in thousands fold. Now, about the restaurant, it was a Saturday evening and it was very busy, although the servers were working efficiently but due to them being so busy we had to call them a couple of times about one of the food they forgot to bring to our table, all the food served was delicious and nicely presented, the size and price also seems reasonable. There were times where my 4 year old autistic son was overwhelmed and started crying out loud, my husband and I tried our best to keep him calm and quiet but being who he is, there wasn’t much we could have done, I just wished the manager would understand the situation when he came to us but instead he told us to please do something because we were disturbing other customers. Because of this my husband had to take him out of the restaurant even though we weren’t done and they never came back in. I hope that other people would understand that it is difficult for parents of special needs kids to take their kids out to this kind of settings without being judged and I won’t let this discourage me from taking my kids out to eat

My partner and I visited Barry’s Sundays afternoon for a late lunch/dinner as we had her good things. We got seated promptly. The food was very good I got the roast with a brownie for dessert and my partner got the chicken supreme and a Lemmon meringue pie. They were both very tasty. The thing that let down our visit was the service. It was honestly awful. Our waiter ages to clear our plates. Once he dropped the desert menu he disappeared completely. After over 20 minutes if not more of waiting we had to call over another waitress who took our order and she was lovely. The waiter we had was walking all over the bar talking to people and would walk past our table and not come over it was very irritating. At the end of our meal we got up to to go pay at the till. There were two managers and a waitress at the till who immediately turned their backs to walk away from us. We had to call one of them back that we could pay.

Order chicken goujons and chips for my daughter. It's very salty and tough for children. I, as an adult, still feel that it's salty. And this is a children's menu, it's even worse. I finished eating and waited until they came to collect the plates to order a cake for my daughter. Then we went to the bathroom and came back to sit and wait for a while. The staff were standing and talking at the counter. Sat and watched the staff come to collect. Went to look at the cake to order. The staff still didn't ask. So I didn't wait any longer and asked to pay and go home. Or maybe I'm Asian, so they didn't care. Even though they asked if all the food was okay after serving for a while, they didn't. Even though there were 2 staffs there, including the female manager, they still didn't care as much as they should have. that time, there were only 2-3 tables of customers.

The front of house manager of this establishment is terrible. He speaks down to you like he’s the principal, we were treated like riff-raff from the moment we walked in. We came in just for drinks but we were told we had to order food, we then asked for menus and were refused. We were rudely and aggressively told we would not be served any meal. We were then shoved out the door.

When I tried to speak with him 1-1 afterwards he told me he was a long time in this business, maybe too long in my opinion he should try a different career. It’s clear he’s had no formal training in hospitality. I have been working in the hospitality industry for years also and I’ve never experienced someone treat customers/guests so poorly. When I politely pressed him on the matter of his attitude he scurried away and ran off. A true sign of a weak man.

Barry’s used to have a good name in Douglas but unfortunately that’s all it has now, a name! I have eaten here before and the food is below average, misleading menu and charging London prices. Shocking. I will never be back and will be telling everyone I know in this industry to avoid this place. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere...

If you have food algeries . . you have to ask the server if the food item that you cannot eat is in the food as it does not tell you on the menu. . The dinner menu has garlic & onions in everything. We paid €33 euros for the steak. . It was only the steak . . Nothing else . . Which we could not have even the pepper sauce . . As the server told us it had one of the ingredients in the pepper sauce that my son was alegeric too. . I must say . . My spare ribs were delicious . . When I paid . . I said it to the young lady . . The reply back . . We must look into that & as other people then your son would also have food algeries . . I did reserve the table . . They had my name & phone number . . . But no contact was made by them to me . . . They should follow up . . Other resturants have food containers on the bottom of the menu . . Or. . Besides each food request on the menu. . . We we order something on the menu & did not ask the server. . I would hate to see the reaction by son would have add. . . Please beaware Barry's of people who have food alergies & please the state the contents of them in your menu . . Like other...
