First of all I want to extend my gratitude to who anonymously paid for our meal, my family and I are very grateful for your kindness and I pray you get it back in thousands fold.
Now, about the restaurant, it was a Saturday evening and it was very busy, although the servers were working efficiently but due to them being so busy we had to call them a couple of times about one of the food they forgot to bring to our table, all the food served was delicious and nicely presented, the size and price also seems reasonable. There were times where my 4 year old autistic son was overwhelmed and started crying out loud, my husband and I tried our best to keep him calm and quiet but being who he is, there wasn’t much we could have done, I just wished the manager would understand the situation when he came to us but instead he told us to please do something because we were disturbing other customers. Because of this my husband had to take him out of the restaurant even though we weren’t done and they never came back in.
I hope that other people would understand that it is difficult for parents of special needs kids to take their kids out to this kind of settings without being judged and I won’t let this discourage me from taking my...
Read moreThe front of house manager of this establishment is terrible. He speaks down to you like he’s the principal, we were treated like riff-raff from the moment we walked in. We came in just for drinks but we were told we had to order food, we then asked for menus and were refused. We were rudely and aggressively told we would not be served any meal. We were then shoved out the door.
When I tried to speak with him 1-1 afterwards he told me he was a long time in this business, maybe too long in my opinion he should try a different career. It’s clear he’s had no formal training in hospitality. I have been working in the hospitality industry for years also and I’ve never experienced someone treat customers/guests so poorly. When I politely pressed him on the matter of his attitude he scurried away and ran off. A true sign of a weak man.
Barry’s used to have a good name in Douglas but unfortunately that’s all it has now, a name! I have eaten here before and the food is below average, misleading menu and charging London prices. Shocking. I will never be back and will be telling everyone I know in this industry to avoid this place. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere...
