So my wife and I went to this place after a long sunny day of walking in Cork , we thought of what could be better than boosting up the day with a lovely bottle of wine and some lovely Indian food. At first we entered, a lovely waitress welcomed us asking if we need a table but suddenly the owner/manager asked her to wait and he asked us if we have a reservation,, we said no ,while i checked the place and it was nearly empty except 2 tables but anyways after a minute he said ok come in. We had a seat and started to check the menu then another waitress/manager or im not sure whom was she showed up askimg for if we were ready to order, i said just a minute please we are still checking the menu, she seemed very unhappy and asked if we need anything to drink so i said just a minute for that too as we just sat and havent had the chance to check the drinks separate menu,, simply she seemed very unhappier and started to look to us in a rude way!! Couple of minutes later and she cames around us while still deciding on what to get and kept looking then the manager/owner came and looked to us unhappily too , i was very confused of whats wrong with them so i said to my wife these people are rude lets leave this place and get a meal somwhere else!! She said no wait dont let them disturb you they might thought we were young people whom are jocking or so but i didnt like the way they look or behave,, veeryyy rude and unprofessional , i have been living in Cork for years and tried nearly all the restautants here and never seen any kind of rudness or impolitness from people in a restaurant,,, then she came and took our order, was talking in way rude way than before,, i told my wife lets leave and she said dont let them bother you and we already ordered,,lets finish and leave,, we just got a main and a beer ,finished very quickly and left. For the sake of honesty the food tasted very good but the whole experience was horrible and i dont recommend this place ever. I gave them this 1 star for rhe food taste only!! If you are looking for excellent food + kind and polite people ping me and i will recommend...

Came in and didn't need a reservation. It was not to crowded. The food was over all on the sweet side of the spectrum. Ordered butter chicken (they had it listed as murg makhani), chicken tikka Masala, their rice with herbs (because the others don't come with rice) and naan bread. Got drinks of manga lassi. When the mango lassi came out it had not had the sugar dissolved so it was gritty at first. The use of sugar also made the lassi more sweet than I am used to from Indian food. The butter chicken was also on the sweeter side of one's that I have had though not enough to be off put. My wife who had the chicken tikka Masala said it was a 3 out of 5 based off previous experiences. The herb rice I would say could be passed on and just get plan rice. There was not much herb flavor to it to make it worth the extra cost.

Some things I am used to is smokey flavors from the tandoori oven and that was missing from the chicken. And the service was kinda slow after the meal.

On the positive. The food was well cooked. The chicken was moist and tender. The service was prompt at the beginning of the service. Price was reasonable and ended up spending €50 for the meal.

There is still room to grow and would suggest not being as sweet and trying to get more smokey tastes added to...

Worst place ever, one of our party ordered king prawns was given 4 tiny shrimp, when we told the waitress it was king prawns ordered she said we didn't she refused to replace it, she went for the owner who not only was rude but said king prawns get really small when cooked, we eat in Indian restaurant all over the world and know king prawns when we see them, he told us to go back to the UK where we belong, we all live in Ireland, we decided not to continue and asked for our bill, only to hear four including the owner standing talking about us extremely loudly all of which I may add were nasty comments. Finally when the bill came with another nasty comment which I will not repeat at 190.00 euros and all the food and drink was still on the table the owner started to shout you're card is declined get another card or cash, at this point people started to watch and told us it was unbelievable the way we were treated, some left just as their waitress came to take their order. And my card wasn't declined it went through as the signal wasn't good so he said in a much lower voice. Stay away, rude staff/owner, can't give a comment about the food...

I must say that I was a bit baffled by the previous recent reviews, some of which were ravingly positive, with others simply horrified. We decided to give it a go anyway. On the plus side, service was prompt and attentive, and we liked most of the food we ordered. I found my Chicken Madras especially good. On the minus front, the place was still freezing two good hours after opening time. We had a heating element next to us, but the staff did not realise it was not plugged in. At times, the staff gave the slight impression of having been hurled into the job on the day before, but they were showing their good will anyway. I found my son's Butter Chicken far too bland and tasting exceedingly of - well, yes - butter, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. I read others complain about an overpriced menu, but I have to say that, after scouring the Cork scene of Indian restaurants, Bombay Palace actually has slightly lower rates than most other comparable places (although the prices shown on their website have already been touched up). Room for improvement, but I'm sure they are trying.

I’m looking for options less than one star but I couldn’t make it! I have ordered in 2016 and had worst food! I thought things would’ve changed in last 5 years and ordered again this time! They didn’t surprise me as it’s still the same food! I ordered chicken Biriyani and some chicken starters! I heard that grape wines would be preserved for Years to get a good taste! First time I saw a cooked chicken stored for longer time in their restaurant! If you see the pics I have attached, the chicken is mixed pink colour and the meat is too hard! I’ve been cooking since 10 Years and never seen this type of hard meat! Even the starters of chicken is too hard and yellowish pink colour! It’s clear they have used old meat stored for weeks or months may be! I never get back to this restaurant in any way!! The so called Biriyani is just some old cooked rice with old sauce! Not an authentic Indian I say! If u need better Biriyani come to my home!!

Myself and my girlfriend went here for our first proper dinner date since covid hit. And it was amazing! Their outdoor seating is brilliant and we luckily had great weather. The food! Incredible! 10/10 it's our new favourite Indian restaurant! The poppadoms and condiments that come out before your meal are super tasty šŸ‘Œ We got the combination starter between us and everything on the plate was delicious! Full of flavour! I got the chicken madras and herself got the chicken Bhuna! Both were fantastic, super flavourful and portion sizes were spot on! We shared pilau rice and chips together, both were pretty good! And the Naan bread, specifically the Peshwari Naan bread... Best tasting naan bread I've had hands down. 10/10 can't wait to go again šŸ‘Œ
