Are you a US Expat craving a delicious burger? Then this is the spot for you. At first seating the very simple menu inspired confidence. When abroad you discover most places that serve burgers try to do everything. The most common here is Fish and Burgers. Every fish and chips/burger joint I have had the misfortune to dine in has always been disappointing at best. Bunsen offers beautiful simple burgers and cheese burgers in single or double. That's it. They have three types of fries, handcut, shoestring and sweet potato. We tried the shoestring and the sweet potato. Which were both great. One warning about the burger patties, these are not skinny American style fast food hamburger patties. These are what we would call a restaurant sized patty. Not knowing this, I ordered the double cheese burger as to compare against my So Cal favorite In & Out and had to remove a patty to eat the next day. The burger was hot and delicious and the bun was soft and perfect. If you are avoiding gluten, they have gluten free bread available and will also serve it "Paleo" wrapped in lettuce. For this review I took one for the team and ate the bun. Next time I'll go Paleo as my stomach no longer appreciates the gluten. But darn it...

A very tasty burger at the Bunsen restaurant, ordered just the plain burger to see how it tasted. It is a very big burger and for the price at almost €10 euros with the cost of living gone so high and vat rates for business. I have to admit it was value for money. The burger was cooked to perfection and nice and juicy and was served by two great attentive and welcoming waitresses. Also ordered the chips and was glad to see a very large portion served as a lot of places are serving very little. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Service was nice and quick the time it took to cook the burger was the waiting time. Your table is also served with a big jug of fresh cold water which is an extra nice part of the service. There is also a nice selection of condiments on your table for free such as different sauces and mayonnaise. The staff were great and had pride in their work. It has a nice simple little menu if you like your burgers I would recommend trying the food and...

45 minutes after we ordered, still no sign of our food. All through this time a constant stream of takeway orders were being passed out to despatch riders - they simply deprioritised our on-premise meal. Let’s get real, this is burgers and chips - any decent takeaway would manage the volume no hassle. I asked the waitress and instead of just saying they hadn’t started on our food she tried to claim that we had only just ordered. Even if I’m wrong, if you’re a waitress don’t make it your objective to loudly prove me wrong - it just makes the delay worse. The manager was no help -couldn’t even give an estimate of when the food might come and couldn't have cared less. So, after 50 minutes waiting for burgers, we left. We run a number of accommodation businesses in Cork and will be warning our guests to avoid Bunsen - they just don’t seem to hire staff who...

I had the pleasure of visiting Bunsen in Cork, and it truly impressed me! The concept is simple yet brilliant – an excellent burger menu presented on a business card. This minimalist approach makes the ordering process quick and easy, while still offering a fantastic selection of burger options. The quality of the food was top-notch; the burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, paired with fresh, flavorful toppings. The fries were crispy, and everything came together in a way that made for an outstanding meal. What sets Bunsen apart is not just the food, but the experience itself. The straightforward menu and focus on quality make it stand out in a city full of dining options. If you’re a burger lover, Bunsen is definitely a place you don’t want to miss while in Cork!

Lo pasamos genial. Siempre excelente pro los últimos 10 años 😊 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.5/5 – Great Burgers, but Bun Needs Attention Bunsen continues to impress with its juicy, well-cooked patties, crisp fries, and no-frills approach that keeps the focus on quality. The service is quick and friendly, and the vibe is relaxed and consistent. However, on my last visit, the bun wasn’t up to the usual standard—it felt underdone and lacked the usual texture that sets Bunsen apart. This change was noticeable and disappointing. It needs immediate attention from management to maintain the high standards customers expect. Still a solid spot, but I hope this is quickly addressed.

It's in a great location near Tesco Paul Street with carpark nearby and city centre less than 5 minutes walk. Food is nice i liked the chips with potato skin on it. Milkshake was lovely. Burger was big well cooked piping hot. Only issue i had was the menu. Normally when you look at a Burger menu they have it written underneath what's in it. Yes there was topping section in the menu but it didn't say anything about cheese so i thought all burgers had cheese in it which i was wrong. So it be great if they could fix the menu make it more detailed.
