We went to Luigi Malones a few weeks back, we pre booked our table online and declared that the booking was for 2 adults and a child under two. When we arrived I was told they had no room for us and when I explained I had a booking the lady dealing with us asked for our name and told us that we are lucky she has room for her cause we should have declared in the booking that we had a buggy with us, we apologised and explained we said we had a child under two and never knew we had to declare a buggy. Throughout our meal the lady approached our table 2 times while we were eating and said the same thing “I don’t meant to be bad and I’m not trying to annoying but please do make it clear that you have a buggy cause we will not be able to accommodate you next time” we felt so embarrassed as people were looking at us and we just tried to continue our meal and move past it. When we got up to pay and leave she ran after us and repeated it again and was adamant that should we come in again and not declare we had a buggy even though we said child under two that she would not accommodate us. We felt embarrassed and couldn’t enjoy our meal. I would understand her reasoning if the place was fully booked but over 30 percent of the table were just empty when we went in.
It was my first time taking my newborn baby out and it wasn’t a very nice experience for...
Read moreSo, me and friends went to Luigi Malone, Cork. Very nice place, very good food, comfortable outdoor seating, very nice and peaceful location when compared to city centre. We ordered Cheese Nachos and Cauliflower from the appetizers: very very tasty, freshly made, served warm, big portions, quite filling. Long Island Iced tea: highlight of the dinning experience, the best I have had in Ireland, MUST TRY. my friends ordered Milkshakes and Juices: they liked it. Vegetarian Lasagne: yummmm, legit, tasty, decent portion, served warm. Vegetariana Pizza: amazing thin crust pizza, served warm, decent size, full of vegetables, very nice. Service from New Trainee: Anne Marie was top of the order, good to speak to, food served hot in no time, calm courteous soft spoken person, she checked a couple of times if we needed anything. Overall a nice dinning experience, will love to go back again. MUST TRY. Overall 5 Star. 1 star deducted because of Manager(I think her name is Ms Paulina): we asked for student discount and she said we don't do student discounts (that is fair enough) and then she said WE GUYS DONT LOOK LIKE STUDENTS: not a good joke, not a line to be said to a customer making a bill of 91 euros, bit rude, she made me feel as If I was lying to her. So I had to get up and show them my...
Read moreThe wife and myself frequented this restaurant last night as a change from our usual eateries hoping to be pleasantly surprised. 30euro for a 3 course meal each was I suppose okay in relation to other places. For starters we both had nachos and a portion of wings Top layer of nachos were burnt from the grill I assume so had to battle through those to get to the unburnt ones. Had worse but have had a lot better in the past in different places. The wings were fine with a nice sauce and dip The wife had lasagna and chips which she enjoyed whilst i ordered ribs and chips. It's not good when the chips are the best bit on the plate, the portion size was plentiful and looked lovely and inviting. However while the ribs on the sides were suffice the larger ones were tough as old boots. So much so I could not eat any of them and in the end asked for them to be wrapped up and taken home to the dog who is a lot easier to please. Can't comment on our cheesecake yet as it's still in the fridge as we had had enough by then. Service was great and prompt though so that's some good news. I told the server about the ribs who said he will inform the kitchen. Ribs should drop off the bone not have to pull off the meat for future reference. Would I come back?...
