I was recently in Cork city and decided to eat in this restaurant. When I walked in I noticed that the restaurant was very dark and unappealing. The kitchen lighting was as dim as the rest of the restaurant. We ordered our food and it took 30 minutes for it to arrive out. There were only 2 other tables of people dining. When the food was cooked, it was left sitting on the counter for quite a while before it was served. The food that was served to us was far below standard and inedible. We ordered a portion of chips, which was never received. The toasted sandwich was dry, with no butter and the ham was like plastic. The steak was covered in onions and a salad was served on the side, despite it specifically being requested not to be served. The steak itself was rubbery and dry. The soup was the only redeeming quality of our visit, but even then it was very standard. I certainly would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. When our concerns about the food were brought up to the staff, the toasted sandwich was not charged for and 10% was taken off our total cost as 3/4 of our meals...

I ordered a skynny latte and a scone today in 14 A. I was there with friends who had the full irish breakfast. I wanted to pay my bill by card. The staff member at the till said they only accept card payment if the amount is more than €10. I’ve suggested to say it in advance to the customers or to put a paper on the wall to advice about it. He went really stiff and annoyed, he said: “we are one of the few places in Cork that allows people to pay separate, it is already a great courtesy, we don’t need to say anything else to our customers”. I was mortified by his reaction. My friend paid for me. If I went there by myself for breakfast with my book to read, how could have I solved the payment issue? Please people keep in mind that if you spent less than €10 you must have cash with you...and by the way every single restaurant, bar, pub that serves food in Cork City allow customers to pay the bill separate and the card payment for less than €10. Never had a similar payment issue so far in Cork, in more than one year. Not a nice...

I went to 14A this evening with two friends. All I can say is the 'service' we received was absolutely APPALLING. The main waiter who served us had such a bad attitude, that at one point I actually felt like walking out. The food was also below average, and overpriced. At the end when I went to pay my share of the meal, I was met with an angry 'we don't allow bills to be split, sit down and pay at the table' type of comment. This also from the main waiter. As a result I was out of pocket and ended up paying more into the contribution than I had intended, as I only wanted to pay for my own meal. I am so disgusted by this shocking attitude and so called restaurant, I will never again grace the door of this place. Steer clear, and go elsewhere for your meal, trust me it can't get much worse than...

So-so breakfast. The interior is actually nice and shows some effort. The staff is nice, service quick enough. Now, the sausages and the black/white pudding were of seriously good quality, think of Blackrock Castle. Unfortunately the toast was, we'll, over toasted and black on one side. The bacon also fried too long, hard and dry. On the other hand the fried egg was sitting somewhere and arrived cold. The coffee was basic. Won't go here again considering there are much better places. But there's worse, as well.

I almost missed this place I am so glad I spotted it. Comfortable warm on the coldest of days. I sat outside at the table area. Staff were so helpful and accommodating they went above and beyond. To feed me the best pulled pork burger bap I have tasted so far in Cork. That is just my opinion but if you can tell me where to get a better tasting of pulled pork then please do share. If you agree press the like button 👍 Mine came with the house chips what a tasty experience. Thanks guys.
