THE HOMER BAR, Cork
Chanced upon this lovely place! A real Irish Bar with a warm atmosphere bustling with banter between the locals! I was initially attracted by the name Homer thinking it has to do with the classical historian. Being Greek that tweaked my curiosity so I walked in to the sound of Abba playing on the tele. I then realized the name has more to do with a type of pigeon which like the customers here, always return! It is a grand place, charming and with a character all its own! If you’re lucky enough to be there during the day, you’ll have the privilege of meeting Esther the bar lady who is one of the most welcoming lady you can meet. Even though you’re a passer by, she’ll make you feel at home! Exactly what you would expect from a real Irish Pub - warmth, laughter and Irish hospitality! I highly recommend it ! The people, as everywhere in Ireland are warm and jovial and welcoming! You are also very close to the Clock of Four Faces which is also referred to as the The Four Liars because of the fact that each face has a clock which has a mind of its own!
