A LATIN PARTY WHERE LATIN PEOPLE ARE NOT WELCOME! Yesterday I had a terrible experience in this place! The security was extremely rude with me and didn’t let me get in. I’ve been living in Cork for 5 years and it never happened before! The reason was because I didn’t have an ID with me, but I always bring my visa card with me and I never had problems because it is an official document with my picture, name and date of birth. The security staff was shouting with me and put my card on my face and asked me if I could read because it was saying it was “not and ID card” and for that reason I could not got in. I’m 33 years old, was sober, and had an official document that could prove my age! All the Spanish that were on the group could get in and the ONLY one that couldn’t was the Brazilian here! After that embarrassment I spoke with the garda that told me that as long as I can proof my age that couldn’t be an issue and he told me that this place is famous for not being “tourist” friendly. He also recommend me to get an Irish document called “Age Card” that is a “proof of age card” and not an “Identity Card” but should be accepted in all pubs and it’s safer than bring my passport or visa card with me. When I tried to speak with this same security telling here that I never had problems using this document as a age proof he was very rude telling that in bodega it IS A PROBLEM. I hope the manager can review this stupid rule and training better their staff. Just writing here just let know the other Brazilians and latin people to avoid the same...

I've had the worst experience in this pub in Cork. My first night out in a long time to say goodbye to a dear friend that is leaving Ireland. Unfortunately what should have been lovely experience was that of a nightmare. We booked our tables for our group outside, we were given a table in the gazebo which didn't provide great shelter anyway so we all got very wet in the rain. We were then told at midnight to finish our drinks as they were dismantling the gazebos, to which we were told we could go inside somewhere to which we obliged. Once inside my partner and 2 other friends (one female) were grabbed by the scruff and yanked back outside as the bouncers decided they were trying to sneak in meanwhile we'd been sitting in front of them since 8pm. That goes along with a few other incidents that happened throughout the night such as being told I cannot stand at the bar by another one of the bouncers when I was trying to ask the bar staff a question. Not good enough from the bouncers and certainly not good enough from the manager that I spoke with. Also FYI I am not drinking and completely sober as I am driving as we live further away from Cork City. As a result the entire group has left the Bodega. The only reason this is getting a 1 star is because I cannot post a review without a rating, otherwise I would give this place -100. Avoid if you would actually like to be treated with dignity...

I visited Bodega Cork on a Saturday night, and while the bar was buzzing with energy, the restaurant side seemed relatively quiet. Unfortunately, there was only one person on the floor handling both service and food, which led to a slower pace. We could tell this wasn’t the server’s fault, likely due to staff shortages. We waited a while for someone to take our orders, but once they were in, the food arrived quickly.

We started with the starters, which were decent but nothing special — just average in terms of flavor. However, the mains were a letdown. I had a burger, and it was rather plain. There were no salads added, and the quality of the meat was well below expectations. The chips were overly greasy, and we ended up eating very little due to the taste and quality.

When the server asked if the food was okay, we explained our disappointment. To their credit, they offered a replacement meal, but we declined, as we felt it wasn’t worth trying again. Considering the quality of the food, it felt overpriced. We paid the bill in full and left.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience. While the service wasn’t terrible, the food didn’t match up to the price, and we left feeling unsatisfied. Wouldn’t return for food again but for drinks the vibes felt great and the...

Far cry from what the website promised, menus are completely outdated on the website even tho you have to book through the website during Covid times. From the minute we walked in you could tell the reservation hadn't been honoured and something properly prepared, firstly a waiter was over eager to take the order, my friend had gone to the bathroom and hadn't even looked at the menu, then we were sat for another 20 minutes waiting for someone to take the order and when a waiter had come towards us to take the order he was called to another table that arrived after us by the Security guard, overall the staff look disinterested and lacking motivation... food wise the burgers were average at best, but the fries are pretty tasty..cocktails were sub standard compared to other places in the city.. it's also not the cleanest... wouldn't be rushing back in a hurry to be honest.

Thank you to The Old Town Whiskey Bar’s team at Bodega Welcome to this spacious and charming place! I love the atmosphere with candles with the old wooden furniture! You have a DJ after a certain time of the evening. I took the rib-eye steak (24.5€) accompanied with his gratin of potatoes and salad. You have a portion of butter on the steak and it’s soooo delicious especially with his gravy sauce! You can add additional chips for 3€ but it’s not something necessary for the dish you got. I recommend the shiraz foundstone which marries very well with this fabulous dish. You will love this red wine full of dark fruit with its peppery finish note. Have a greatfull moment with your friends at this charming place!

Fantastic atmosphere, the wall behind the bar and bookcases are adorned with whiskey bottles. They have a standard and specialty cocktail menu. Craft beer is on tap from Rising Sun across the street. The food is probably better suited for snacking; the wings are amazing and loaded fries are great (though the cheese tasted a bit powdery). They have other snacks like halloumi fries that we'll have to try next time. The cheeseburger patties tasted frozen, but the chicken burger was crispy and the buns were soft and fresh.
