Great spot to enjoy some food, especially if you're staying at the hotel. We came in fairly late and had a very reasonably priced tasty meal. Highly recommend the Jacob's ladder - it was fantastic. Steak sandwich was alright as well - the peppercorn sauce was the best part. Service was a bit slow but they didn't seem to have many folks working on a Wednesday night, so I can understand that. Dinner and dessert for 2 was under €50 - very worth it.

Food was good. Not great. Service was slow. Sign at the door saying to remain there to be seated but was ignored for 5minutes, staff even looked at me but didn't bother to come over. Eventually seated after I walked towards a waitress. Forgot my drinks order, was finished my food by the time it came down. A bit of a shame some better trained staff and it could be great.

Lovely place and amazing food. The location itself is nice with all these books surrounding you that help create a cozy atmosphere. The outdoor area is very nice with a bit of view of Cork. In terms of food you MUST try the seafood chowder and the steak burger. Absolutely recommended!

I was in Cork for work. I didn't fancy wandering about bar street looking for a nice meal. Google suggested McGettigans, just up the road from my hotel. I didn't have space for any of the larger meals so on the advice of the waitress I ordered a chicken salad and was not displeased. Weakened by an Edinger which turned out to be an Erdinger Weissbier, (minus a tiny point for that) I then tried the apple crumble which was also prepared, presented and served with TLC and was probably the best crumble I've ever tasted in a restaurant. Not quite the crumble mix I'm used to but I really had to push down the desire to order a second one. A decent portion with nice apple. Not the cheap sweet paste that you all too often get. It came with a portion of vanilla ice cream and some posh vanilla sauce too. I had the distinct feeling that anything I ordered there would be as good. So would I recommend...

We had a family group of 16 celebrating an 80th birthday here. The setting was lovely, and the service was solid, our single waiter handled the large group with care, was friendly, and got all the orders right, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. We all ordered from the main menu, and while the dishes varied, the general consensus was that the food was average at best. A particular letdown was the “seared lemon sole fillet” which turned out to be just deep-fried fish in batter, more like pub grub than the refined dish the menu description suggested. To her credit, the manager acknowledged our concerns and made adjustments to the bill, which we appreciated. Still, for a venue like this - a 4 start hotel, the kitchen needs to up their game. Nice atmosphere, good service , but the food fell short...

Seated on a low sofa near a fire exit. Never got my onion rings. Mains Ribs were tasty but not enough BBQ Sauce or meat . Tiny ramekin of coleslaw- literally one mouthful. Economic portion of chips. Big corn on the cob bulked up the plate. Dessert of Chocolate Brownie was Divine!!! Coffee for buddy took 15 mins as we had to leave for a concert across the road. SUN - THURS 2 COURSES for €26.95 did not apply apparently as steak & ribs were not included- personally I didn't spot the exclusion. Maybe we were just unlucky on the night but I'd try other places rather than return. Waitress was very pleasant but lacked training - my buddy ordered a Martini and the barman came down to enquire what a "Gin Martini" was? We didn't know as we hadn't ordered one... Lots of room for improvement - would have been 2 Star bar...
